According to Ad Blankestijn (http://www.japannavigator.com/2012/03/japanese-masters-hayasaka-fumio.html):
"Yukara (1955) - symphonic suite in six movements. Not program music, but rather Hayasaka's musical reactions to the ancient Ainu saga. With this work, Hayasaka also wanted to reaffirm oriental values in a time of rising Westernization. The suite is noted for its sparse textures, a contrast with Hayasaka's more other lush compositions."
