Hi everyone, this site is so awesome with a lot of OST in Flac. But who can tell me the best of program to convert from Flac to Mp3 (320kbps) because my cell phone only read Mp3. Thanks!

If you want only a program that convert from/to any format you wish, then a good one is the dBpoweramp Music Converter (
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm)
But if you have the media player foobar2000 (
http://www.foobar2000.org/) installed, you can use it not only to play music but also to convert files.
Hope these are good suggestions for you :)

Thanks for your reply Sanico, but how about the program like Flac To Mp3 Converter FLAC To MP3 Converter - Download FLAC To MP3 Software (
http://www.flacmp3.net/)

I've never heard of that program. It has an easy interface, sure.
But I would strongly recommend Foobar.
Download here:
http://www.foobar2000.org/
For mp3, it may ask you where the "lame.exe" is installed on your computer.
In that case, download from here:
http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-bundle.php
LAME 3.99.5
2012-02-28
Bundle compiled with Intel Compiler 12.1.
Is the one you want.

I have both of dBpoweramp and Foobar2000 readied just in case one of them fails in the conversion. But preferably I would pick foobar2000 with it's function not only as a converter but as a player.

another good program is called Switch Sound File Converter from nch.com.au
it can convert many formats including flac into whatever u want. i can even convert midi's into mp3 or wave although not every converted midi has the entire midi...some parts get left out.

NO NO NO.
That thing uses a version of LAME that is almost six years out of date.
I repeat; Foobar2000 with the latest version of LAME as linked by Sparktank.
Do yourselves a favour, folks; stop looking for some dreadful "one click" solution; most of them are full of spyware and use outdated or broken encoders. Spend five minutes learning how to do it right. Your ears (and anybody else who finds themselves on the receiving end of anything you've encoded) will thank you.

Also bookmark that site. It's the only site to release LAME binaries for all circumstances.
Mac, Windows, Intel processor specific, etc.
They're very comprehensive in making LAME available to many people.

dbpoweramp is just a frontend, there's no stopping you from using the newest version of lame with it

I was complaining about dbpoweramp; I was talking about the piece of software quoted, which has LAME from early 2007; broken, and outdated as specified.
DBp is OK as they go, but to encode MP3s costs money or requries a crack and it does nothing that FB2K doesn't do better and for free. :)

I used to handle on an audio converter software (
http://www.record-streaming-audio.com/video-converter/) myself. As i am new to pc, it can work easy for me to convert flac to mp3 (
http://www.record-streaming-audio.com/convert-flac-to-mp3/). It saves my time to make me clear how to use it.

Since I found FB2K I've used nothing else for format conversion.
Select the tracks press enter and they open in Foobar. Select/Highlight the tracks right click, choose convert from the menu and pick your options.
When doing a lot of similar conversions you can just click the 'last used' option.
All for free.
Simple!

Anyone interested to use dbpoweramp then here is a registered version: Sendspace (
http://www.sendspace.com/file/bv2cg1)
It contains the usual codecs (mp3 lame, flac, alac, etc.). For additional codecs you need to go to the dbpoweramp website and download the codecs from there.

I tried XLD X Lossless Decoder, and it seems to work fine. But it's very complex, you need a high IQ.

What would you recomend for MAC? and FLAC to wav would be more welcome. I have Logic 9, but it doesn't read flac files.
I have virtual machine installed if windows based converter is so superior.

You could also use MediaCoder (
http://www.mediacoderhq.com/editions.html), its free and is kept up to date. It converts audio and video between many different formats, and they have specialized versions for different goals or platforms.

I use the audio converter in DVDVideoSoft FreeStudio. It works extremely well. You can even change the quality of each track you are converting. :)

I see this is an old thread but since there are two recent replies I thought I'd join in if it's OK...
In addition to foobar and the others mentioned, a really simple one to use is LamedropXPd (also found at rarewares.org). I also like CUETools, especially for albums ripped as one flac file + cuesheet, though foobar can do that too. CUETools wiki (

I really dont know how it is done, but Faasoft FLAC to MP3 Converter has that feature, and I didnt have any problem using that function.
Hope it will help you more or less.

I read about the Faasoft converter and it seems easy to use but it looks like you have to buy it. Does anyone know more about this one? Is there a free version of it with all the features? Thanks!

I paid it and it works like a charm. it's really worth the money. It has a trial version. Free download it from Faasoft Website to have a try.

I downloaded the Faasoft free trial but you can't convert tracks over 5 minutes long. Does anyone know of a completely free software that is very similar to the Faasoft converter I could use? Thanks!
