Since the game is released for a few weeks and there is still no gamerip or a 'rip coming soon' announcement I decided to spend time to rip the damn thing. And after a while I finally managed to rip the sound files. So enjoy!
Info: untagged, unsorted, MP3 320kpbs, no SFX, full direct game rip (so it contains all alternates & doubles)
Notice: The tracks that are cut off are like that in the game. It are mostly the dynamic action tracks. They are meant to be to be cut at the end cause when you put them on repeat you have a never ending action track. When you play, the game puts those tracks in a loop until the action ends. The cutscenes tracks do have a nice ending though. Since there are many alternates you can mix your own tracks if you like. Feel free to share your creations in this thread :).

I've been waiting for a year because that's around the time I've first heard about the game itself being in development. And since it's always a case that the official soundtracks do not include all music from the game, I've been waiting for a rip instead. So quit this petty quibbling if you will.
Still waiting for any feedback about the links. Can anyone help?

The files are not blocked cause I see that there are already a lot of downloads. But it seems because it is a split archive mediafire blocks the file for non-paying customers after a few hours.
Anyways. I will post ALL music files without SFX tomorrow on another file sharing site that doesn't give any problems.
For the impatient ones :): it will probably be around at 11 AM GTM Time (Check (

Thanks for the rip, though I see a problem for some reason. It shows up on parts 1-5 of your rip, asides from the "Extras" one. Anyone else having the same problem?
The file you attempted to download is an archive that is part of a set of archives. MediaFire does not support unlimited downloads of split archives and the limit for this file has been reached. MediaFire understands the need for users to transfer very large or split archives, up to 10GB per file, and we offer this service starting at $1.50 per month. We have informed the owner that sharing of this file has been limited and how they can resolve this issue.

Other AC games (pc versions) have sounds in pck container (this one too), quickbms script (would need some changing most likely) to unpack the files and ww2ogg tool to make them normal ogg. That was in AC2 and ACB, probably would work in ACR and here. Of course licenturion will tell you better.

This little zip contains everything you'll need to extract the sounds_sfx.pck: Wwise_PCK_Decoding.rar (
http://www.mediafire.com/?21mamsrd2vou1rd)
How to use it: Run quickbms, select the "wavescan.bms", then select AC3's sounds_sfx.pck or sounds_eng.pck, then select a folder to extract it to (what should work best is the wwise_pck_decoding folder, you can move the files out after converting etc).
Once quickbms is done, run the 0.bat. It'll convert all the unplayable RIFF FMT's into broken ogg's, using ww2ogg.exe. After that is done, might take a while, run 00001.bat, it'll run the program revorb on all the ogg files in the folder, creating (mostly) valid ogg's.
Now, sort by type and move out the .wav's and .ogg's (you can delete the .wav's now).
What I've done afterwards is one all the .ogg's through a batch script that converts them all to .wav using ffmpeg for sorting after kbps to weed out mono and surround files (and files that do not have 1024kbps, there's some indian and classical music in the other bitrated files, most of you probably won't want them), and then through a script that converts them to mp3 via lame.
The ffmpeg script looks as follows:
for %%I in (*.ogg) do (
"G:\acsoundtrack\programs\ffmpeg-20121125-git-26c531c-win32-static\bin\ffmpeg.exe" -i "%%I" "%%~nI.wav" -acodec pcm_u16le )
The lame script like this:
mkdir "mp3"
for %%I in (*.wav) do "G:\acsoundtrack\programs\lame-3.97\lame.exe" -b 256 --resample 44.1 "%%I" "mp3\%%~nI.mp3"
Change the paths to whereever your executables are, and put the .bat file into the folder where the files are.
ffmpeg actually wasn't able to convert all the revorbed ogg's, I saw some red error notices fly by, but I didn't log them so I do not know which files specifically those were.

skeletonmage, thanks for this (even though I personally don't own ACIII) but would this work on the other Assassins Creed games for the PC?
skeletonmage
11-30-2012, 09:43 PM
For other Assassin's Creed games grab the Maki tool (
http://www.moddb.com/groups/assassins-creed-fans/downloads/forge-extractorreplacer-by-turfster) (that's what I've used for them anyway, I'm sure you could also use quickbms for them with the right script, I think I have one for AC2, ACB and R flying around).
Start the maki.exe, select the Archives tab, and select the sounds_sfx.pck or *eng* of AC2, ACB or ACR, right click in the filelist, "Select all", right click again, "Extract". Note that maki extracts in the same folder as the archive you opened is in, so you might wanna move the specific archive into a new directory.
Once that's done, same thing, move the extracted files into the folder with the ww2ogg.exe, and run the 0.bat, you won't need to run the 00001.bat afterwards, though, since the ogg files should be valid.
After that you can do the same stuff with ffmpeg etc.
AC1 is a little more tricky, but since I already uploaded a soundtrack dump of it, would that just be good enough if I sent the links to you? I couldn't find anything to properly recode the SFX of AC1, but I didn't exactly look for it either, so no idea there.

I had the same confusion but worked it out now: first click on the link (jheberg links), then click "Download the file" in the blue box, then youll get taken t the next screen which, on the right hand side, has a list of names hosting the file (including the names mentioned earlier eg. bayfiles). You just choose one and go through that websites download processs (wait 30/60/90 secs blah blah) and youll eventally get the file. Its pretty handy because theres usually a wait after each download but if you choose different hosts for each file you can get them done quicker.
I'm also computer savvy but took me a bit to work it out also!
