was the result of our domain registrar. it should be fixed now, but it may take a period of time for dns information to propagate to your ISP

During the downtime, I happened to see that your server is through GoDaddy.

From reading several threads over on vBulletin Community Forum, GoDaddy is the worst and is not recommended.

I was waiting for you to post something like that. ;) You're as predictable as clockwork Amaury when it comes to server glitches/bugs. :D

FFS is hosted on GoDaddy.com? That's ironic, I saw an ad for them on TV yesterday encouraging people to pay them to domainsquat virtually. :P

godaddy is not our host. they're just our domain registrar.

all registrars are virtually identical so it's never been worth the hassle to me to transfer it from godaddy elsewhere.

By the way, weren't we going to upgrade sometime after the last hack?

we only upgrade when necessary for security issues

Yeah, I know. :) It was you yourself that said (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f7/ffs-hacked-113569/#post1988257) you'd be upgrading us.

Also, there was a recent patch (https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php/409958-vBulletin-4-Security-Patch-for-Potential-Yahoo!-User-Interface-Library-Exploit-11-01-2012) released, but only for versions 4.1.12 and 4.2.0.

I think Sarah explained what happene, not ask for feedback. And we are back today anyway. No one missed anything life changing in the day we were down. Move along, citzens, nothing to see here.

Although, I will add thank you Sarah, for taking the time to get us up and running again. :awsm:

I could not even log to the forum with a proxy... so I have thought that FFS had ended up like the swedish guys of PirateBay... which cannot be accessed at all from my country.

Thanks for putting the forums back online anyway! :)

I'm assuming you got the SEO patch installed, of course, because that appeared to be the issue last time.

Anyway, did you change your mind, then? You did indeed say you'd be upgrading us, as shown in the link.

Amaury, give it a rest. If Sarah thinks this update ain't needed, that's her choice, end of story.

There's nothing wrong with asking questions.

I even thought that it was the end of ffshrine... .__. that'd be offline permanently... It's good to see that everything's normal again.

This forum goes down from time to time. I've learned to accept that. I try again the next day.

Thanks, Sarah, for fixing everything. I'd very much appreciate it if you could arrange for the next unscheduled downtime to occur NOT when I'm right in the middle of preparing a great post, though. ;)

It should have auto-saved it.

That's right, it was just a minor glitch, nothing to worry about humans, go back to playing outside at the park.
