Is anyone as excited about the release of MGS3:Snake Eater as I am? I mean I love the series,and I think this next game will only make me enjoy the whole series even more. They are trying so many new things in this game that no other game as ever tried.

I've seen a trailer but it was an old one, like a year ago or so, or maybe i didn't see the whole thing so i didn't catch the camoflague. Either way, it was too long to remember. Anyways, ya i'm excited about it coming out. I loved the first two. Though it's a shame it won't happen AFTER the first two, so we can see what happened after two, it still will be fun to play in the age that it's in. I forget what age it was because, like i said, i haven't seen the trailer for a while.

I think that it's supposed to take place sometime in the Vietnam War or...maybe it was the Gulf War. I'll have to get back to you on that one. The game is gonna be so realistic. In a interview, the games creator said that if you fall from a high ledge, you could break your leg. REALLY BAD!!!!!! But the fact that you have to heal it back to a certain extent. TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!! Plus, what other game is there where you can eat animals and plants in the surrounding environments to stay alive? NONE.

I'm more excited about the Twin Snakes.... but Snake Eater does look interesting.

Well, Twin Snakes is looking good,but all it is is a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid,just with better graphics and maybe a few new weapons or somethin. I'd still play it though cuz I'm about as much a hardcore MGS gamer as I am a Final Fantasy gamer.

Yes, it's metal gear solid remake... but they've pretty much changed everything except the story. So it's SO MUCH more than just better graphics and a few new weapons. It's the graphics and Gameplay from MGS2, with the story from MGS... which is just fucking awesome. Also the Snake eater demo movie looked pretty stupid.

What are Twin Snakes by the way?

I'm midly excited about the third one. I think the second one definately had better gameplay, but I felt the story was somewhat as much control in the direction and wasn't quite as sure of itself. :(

I'm looking forward to the Twin Snakes more, too. MGS2 was a huge disappointment. :( Particularly the stuff with Liquid/Ocelot and the hand, the Patriots (The accumulated spirits of dead presidents??) and just the way it went all weird at the end. I mean, sure, the first one was completely unrealistic, but that was just SILLY. But MGS had it all. Nice touches like the way Meryl's codec number was on the CD case and Mantis reading your memory card/playing with the rumble feature. So, I didn't enjoy 2 half as much. But Snake Eater MIGHT be okay. It's something of a regression though, right? I mean, it doesn't actually advance the plot of the last two, and you play as Big Boss or something? ^_~

I'm not THAT excited for MGS3, but I will pick it up whenever it comes up, hopefully by Christmas. I still wonder when will Konami finally realize that we want to play as Snake, and not she-men or clones.

If you remember, Big Boss is Snake's dad by his genes. So, what's it matter? Big Boss is just as bad as Snake so it be like playing with Snake. Big Boss was a pretty bad solidier if you ever read the profile the game creator made for him.

3)Storyline is gonna be cool. Yes its gonna be set in the 1960s, means tat its set during the Cold War period.. but im not sure of the location tat u gonna play in..

I'm very excited about MGS3, the whole gameplay aspect, how the storyline will add to what we know so far. And the fact we play as BIG BOSS!! The soldier of the 20th Century (in-game) it just seems pretty cool. The previews seem really funny, yet stunning.


Can't wait for Christmas this year.

Well if you look at the trailers, Big Boss looks basically exactly the same as Snake, apart from Big Boss has one eye shut.

But they look more or less exactly the same, you can easily tell they used the Snake character model for Big Boss.

So what if they look the same? I didn't like snake for his looks, I liked him for his personality. I doubt Big Boss has the same personality as snake too.

Ah you never know, just going to have to wait for either more previews or until the game actually comes out I guess. But I'm thinking this game will be very very good, it just sems to have 'Espionage Action' written all over it at te moment, and I can already tell its going to wipe the floor with Splinter Cell (Sorry, I just had to bring it up)

Considering Splinter Cell pretty much kicked MGS2's ass... and after seeing both the MGS3 and Splinter Cell: Pandora's Tomorrow... I'm pretty sure Sam Fisher will be wiping the floor with Solid Snake yet again.

I do think MGS3 will be better than MGS2 though...

It's not Solid Snake. The player will be playing as Big Boss. It's already been said by the games creator. Plus, if you look real close, the headband he wears covers up the same eye that Big Boss wears a patch over. Coincedence?

Yeah im excited about MGS3: Snake eater,

but im more excited about MGS: Twin Snakes, remake of MGS 1 in ps2 graphics but with an hour of extra game play and extended, re-made cutscenes, gonna be so cooL!

Dude! I started this thread and I'm not stupid. I just forgot what somebody else had wrote. Anyways, I was talking about the headband theory, not the Big Boss/Solid Snake theory.

You said it yourself... the game designers have already revealed that you play as Big Boss and not Solid Snake. So "The headband theory" is not a theory... it's a fact.. he wears a fucking headband... saying that adds nothing to the conversation.

Had anyone played the original MGS wayback when it was released for the NES? If so.. u may get a grasp of wad Big Boss is like..

Yeah I played Metal Gear back on NES, but it really wasn't that great of a game, so I never went all the way through it. I don't remember much from it either. :eye:

Yeah. And I remember it being overly difficult. And not really that good. ^~
