I am looking for some help in prepping what can be considered a "complete" soundtrack to Sinister. I previously posted the "other" music used in the film that was not Chris Young's music, but rather a collection of the experimental songs recorded by a handful of avant garde bands. I've since deleted that link because in that short amount of time I have secured additional tracks as well as longer versions of the ones previously included.

After having listened to Young's score, independent of all the experimental stuff, I'm a little disappointed that almost none of it sounds familiar. What I thought was going to be a fairly easy process of layering the score and soundtrack together in film order now seems like it's going to be a little more involved. I am certain that entire tracks from the score don't appear in the movie, and other tracks, like Portrait of Mr. Boogie, are seven minutes long, yet appear in 30 second versions in the actual film.

Right now this is what my personal version looks like. Anything marked with an * means it's been properly attributed to its scene in the movie and named by me. The reason non-Young stuff appears without a film-appropriate name is basically because I'd seen someone on a message board say those songs appeared. So for the time being they are included, just in case, in no particular order.

If anyone out there can lend any advice or suggestions, I absolutely welcome the help.

1. Portrait of Mr. Boogie - C. Young
2. Never Go in Dad's Office - C. Young

12. Lawn Work '86* - Accurst [Fragment # 9 (Fragments of a Nightmare)]
13. My Sick Piano - C. Young
14. Rot Not, Want Not - C. Young
15. Aghast - Enthral
16. Don't Worry Daddy, I'll Make You Famous - C. Young
17. Accurst - [Fragment # 3 (Fragments of a Nightmare)]
18. Sinister - C. Young

While I pretty much expect this post to disappear into the oblivion of the shrine along with my other posts, hopefully ya'll can send me a few tips before that happens.

Cool... here's a little bonus for you... This track was used in the trailer and TV spots for the film. Enjoy!

I see you took my tip to try and combine the two soundtracks. Very nice. While I'd love to help, I'm afraid I don't really know what to do here...I've seen the film once. The music that stood out to me was what played during all of the family killings. I have a feeling Zeeky may be able to help us out here. MAYBE. Whatever anyone can offer is appreciated here, and I look forward to it

Thanks much for the trailer music. It's nice and eerie. Do you happen to know the artist/company responsible?

I was very eager to do this from the start until I heard the score. Now I don't know what the hell to do. Sinister doesn't seem to be all that popular 'round these parts, so I may be forced to revisit when it hits video and go scene by scene.

That's what I was gonna suggest. It may be our only option at this point. Unless you download a torrent of it, I'm sure there's a good one by now

I try not to mess around with them. For now I will finalize what I have and post the info. When it hits video, I will revisit and gauge other folks' interest. Perhaps with more time more people will be interested.

I would love to help you, because I'm very interested in having chronological scores as well, but I've only seen it once and my memory as far as music cues to minutes is shit.

Did you ever finish this? I just discovered this movie and soundtrack. I'm also interested in a "complete" soundtrack for this gem :-)
