Onna No Ichidaiki (TV score by Michiru Oshima) (lossless/flac)
Onna no Ichidaiki (“Woman’s Biography”) was a 2005 3-part TV series highlighting the accomplishments of famous Japanese women: a novelist, a singer, and an actress. A special 4th episode was devoted to Chiaki Mukai, the first woman astronaut, and this CD is Oshima’s music for that episode. I do not know if she composed the music for the other 3 episodes.

The stirring main theme gets 4 treatments alone (orchestra, guitar, strings, piano) with the others covering everything from slow guitar ballads to jaunty tunes with clarinet. Thankfully, this one is devoid of any pop-rock or disco.

Thanks for uploading again Yepsa as I missed this fine soundtrack first time around. Michiru Ōshima composed the music for the series and the final track is sung by another lady, the wonderful singer-songwriter Miyuki Nakajima (not Nakijima).
