The first time I heard the Cocoon theme was on the old Telarc Star Tracks II CD. I had no more than a passing interest in film music back then, but I fell in love with the piece instantly and thought whatever this movie is about, it must be a rousing, emotional masterpiece. Well, I rented the DVD some time later and I gotta admit, I was kinda disappointed. Don't get me wrong, Cocoon is a nice enough film; for me it just doesn't quite live up to that sweeping score. I haven't listened to EG's expanded version yet, but I can already hear the opening notes of the main theme ringing in my ear, clear as a bell. James Horner has composed some of the most famous and well-loved film scores around, but Cocoon will always be one of my favorites and the one that started it all.

Indeed, Mediafire lists Cocoon as an illegal file now. I strongly suspect a snitch amongst us. I suggest something like Mirrorcreator.

On another note, how does this version of the expanded sound. I had a copy but the quality was poor, and some of it sounded more like mono.

The thing is, if Cocoon The Return was nixed, then it was by someone you sent the link to. OR, MF has a new way to detect suspect content. Either way, it bums me because I was using it quite heavily. It had fast dl speed, and you can do multiple downloads.

The quality of Cocoon Expanded it is in fact poor.
