For those of you who might be interested I have decided to upload the 4 classic rock & roll songs featured in the film:

Hound Dog
Wake Up Little Suzie
Little Bitty Pretty One
Shake, Rattle & Roll

All are mp3 320 to adhere to the quality of the score sessions.

Im sorry... but whose idiotic idea was it to suggest to erase the link for the FLAC version?

So the CDs are lossy. Fine.

What will happen if you encode the lossy source with mp3? Bingo: even worse quality! Essentially you now have a transcoding from mp3 to mp3: more artifacts and more missing frequencies.

Please restore the FLAC version. Please?

Sonic: The CD was burned using these MP3s as a source. The FLAC is nothing more than the MP3s converted to FLAC.

Getting rid of the FLAC edition was a very good idea.

So, what will happen if you download this in flac instead of mp3? You will have downloaded something larger that contains the exact same info as the MP3. The files are identical when it comes to audio quality because the flacs were produced from the mp3s. It would make no difference if you converted it to flac during the process. Please explain to me why the idea of erasing the links for the flac was idiotic. The idiocy in this would be to download something that's quite a bit larger when you don't have to...

Or perhaps i should put it this way... what the original poster has might very well be actual audio CDs, but the original source is still lossy and that is what was posted here first. Should these links disappear, fine, then the only good alternative would be to make a new rip and convert to flac, but the mp3s that are linked to in the first post and the flacs were the same.

So you think i'm acting like a spoiled entitled brat? Good to know...

I DID say i was grateful for this upload, becuase it's truly as someone said, an early christmas present. But that doesn't change the fact that it IS a lossy source and everything i was trying to do was to inform people of this. The simple reason as i also stated, everyone doesn't have unlimited down/upload capabilities. I would have been perfectly happy with the MP3 upload and to be honest, i didn't dare hope for more. But i was still happy.

Now, can you do me the favor of reading my posts and tell me EXACTLY where i was bitching!? And also where i was acting like a spoiled, entitled brat!?
DUDE! Did I name any names? No. So chill :)
And, just to clarify, I was not very clear (nor well timed) in my response... I had been merely reading about 4 or 5 pages I had missed... posts that took place before JS posted the FLAC files. Also, "bitching" was probably a poor choice of words I admit. It's just very tireing after a while to be given these wonderful gifts and see post after post of "Where's the FLAC??" "Hey, it's missing this piece and that piece making it only 99.7% complete!" on and on and on and it happens in all of these threads. People barely seem grateful anymore, and after having read a few threads, including this one, before posting I just had a bad taste in my mouth, you know?

My apologies to anyone who was offended... those who truly appreciate these uploads certainly shouldn't have been.

EDIT: In hindsight, I guess my post was generally directed at the general attitude in MOST threads in this forum. Entitlement. It bugs the crap outta me after a while. BUT my post just ended up here because it's the thread I ended up in. Seriously, sorry. Calidoran, I have no issue with you personally... anyone really. I don't even look at names a lot, just hateful posts. Sorry bud if you took my post personally... twas not my intention.

But, you do indeed raise a few good points. Recording sessions do NOT mean complete. Missing music can be due to many editing choices, including tracked music etc. And I remember when people were clamoring for these types of unreleased scores in whatever quality they could find. Not too far back, 320 was a dream and a blessing. Now, FLAC is all. And not all of this is ever going to be available in lossless. Just ain't. Take the 320 and run, I say. And, yea, there is a VAST amount of ingratitude and demanding entitlement running around. Not to mention impatience and overall rudeness. Those that do have access, and share, are seriously not sure they will do so again, based on the overwhelming "appreciation" they receive....

Calidoran

And i just want everyone to understand that i NEVER asked for flac. I was indeed happy with the mp3s i got. If the OP was going to upload it in flac, that would be a bonus.

Now, the only thing i pointed out was that the flac files that WERE offered here contained the same audio information as was already present in the mp3s. I opened both mp3s and flacs and compared them in spectral view in Adobe Audition and they were the same, qualitywise.

I will say only two things more:

1. jacksparrow900 - thank you so very much for sharing this treasure
2. Those that still don't understand why there was no need for the flacs, send me a PM and i will try to explain

Oops... then Im of course sorry. I understood it differently. But in that case Im happy with the mp3! Thank you very much for the clarification.

Here are my covers:

() ()

I've used all cues (plus the source music tracks), but combined some of them following THIS (http://knowingthescore.wordpress.com/2010/04/20/indiana-jones-and-the-kingdom-of-the-crystal-skull-john-williams-2008/) overview. The combined cues don't overlap or crossfade into each other, so the track times might differ if you choose to edit them more seamlessly. Also I took some minor liberties with the track titles.

I've made covers for all of them, yes, but since we don't have complete ones, they're just labeled "Expanded". I think I've already posted them somewhere on this forum, but I'll upload them again when I find time.

Amanda

i label all "complete" as expanded, as there is always 2 seconds here or there missing. Or film versions missing, or trailer music...so instead of quibbling, I just call it expanded..:)

What a terrific find! I've seen people complain that this score is "lackluster," but listening to all this great additional music, it's clear that the OST was just terrible in how much it left off. Too much room taken up by unnecessary concert suites. There's a lot of great stuff here that should be heard. Thanks again. :)

The concert suites were fantastic. The problem was just that half of the album contained the least interesting parts of a good score.

I'm currently uploading it to mega. Standby, it could take an hour or two to upload. I'll post the link here when it's done. It's uploading a folder to mega, so you can take it all, or just individual tracks as I understand it. It didn't want to compress as it had apostrophes and other characters which don't like compressing.

Here it is: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Recording Sessions:

MEGA: https://mega.co.nz/#F!ckknhAAZ!HuKvVG4P9DZFMo2vG6vDVQ

Note: I had to upload in a folder instead of compressing the files as something was up with my winzip. I've never downloaded files like this from mega, but I think you can either download the files individually or download as a whole folder.

It's the best I can do given the festive madness, but I hope some people find it of service!

Merry Christmas!!
