There's a project I've been working on for a while and I'm not sure many will be interested although I think I saw some discussion about it on around the web.. I know it's something people have wanted for a while so I decided to put my efforts into it.

The musical 'Love Never Dies' is the sequel to Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Phantom of the Opera' developed by a very similar group and music written, again, by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The story takes place 10 years after the events at the Opera Populaire. The Phantom (Erik) has fled to New York City with Mrs Giry and her daughter Meg who are protecting him. Erik, in his brilliance, has built Coney Island as a place where he will no longer have to hide his face or remain underground but instead, rule as a King over.

The story truly begins when Christine Daae de Chagny arrives with her husband and son to sing at the opening of a new Opera House in New York.

The West End version of the show didn't perform very well but was HEAVILY adjusted for its debut in Australia. The production there is arguably more stable and tonally correct while developing a lot of the story ideas into a stronger Opera.

The original production released an album while the Australian version did not. Instead, the Australian version produced a direct to DVD/Blu Ray film.

This rip is direct from the Blu-Ray source (so is loss-less) and is meant to portray the story accurately but is not a literal cut and paste job.

I've also included instrumental tracks from the original production along with vocal-less tracks to major moments/songs at the end. One of the most interesting aspects of this production is its use of both live, pre-recorded, and synth supplemental music. In an interview, Anne O'Byrne who plays Christine does speak to how many musical changes were made up till the end. This could explain the use of synth and pre-recorded material to layer/supplement what they performed live.

Thanks so much for this; is this in lossless quality or 320kbps? I'd love a lossless rip if you'd care enough to do it; Ben Lewis was a great phantom. When I went for the show, I had the understudy do the Phantom so when I finally got the DVD, I was shocked beyond words; Ben Lewis was fantastic, but Anna O'Byrne (Christine Dae) stole the show for me.

I have it in lossless but each disc would be like 4 files in order for me to upload it so I did this in mp3...I can do that if you'd like?

I ADORE Ann O'Byrne. Ben is great but Ann is my idol in this show

Yes, please do a lossless version! I would've made a rip of this myself, but it was DVD quality, so not that lossless... ='(
By any chance, do you have the Australian version of the original Phantom Of The Opera? I don't know even if there was one to begin with...

I just wanted to make sure anyone who downloaded this saw that I've changed one thing: I added a track to disc 2 that I thought was included in another track...I also toyed with the order of tracks on Disc 2.

I replaced the download files so anyone who hasn't downloaded it yet will get the right one without needing to download these.

You can get the single track here (flac) (http://www.mediafire.com/?s3cgqac3047ek2m) OR here (mp3) (http://www.mediafire.com/?o8vguv9bqbk7mmi).

The reason I wanted the Aussie version is because a lot of the stuff had been changed from the London Soundtrack Recordings; the pianist in the London recording for the Bathing Beauty rehearsal (before Dear Old Friend) was a man; in the Aussie one, it was a lady.
Plus, the whole confrontation between Raul and the Phantom had different dialogue lines compared to the UK one; UK one had no mention of Mephistopheles.

There's so much; need to listen to this in detail...

Thank you so much for the tremendous effort and for sharing it with us! I'm particularly impressed with the instrumental tracks -- do you have anymore of those. Particularly 'Till I Hear You Sing?' Thanks again!

I almost included that but the issue is Ben's voice is mixed heavily in the Blu Ray. He is only not heard in the rear channels which eliminated so many of the instruments that I wasn't sure it was worth it... it ended up mostly being synth backups. I can post it and you can decide what you think.

I didn't try all of the songs but I'm sure there are others if any would interest you too but they may be hindered by the same issue :-/

Hey there GoodMusician. I was wondering if you had an instrumental of the 1st minute of the Final Bows track? I know it's a variation on the Coney Island Waltz, but I just love that string version and would love an instrumental version of it without the crowd if you are able to do so.

I wish! I tried and found I could get it clean...but mono... due to how it's mixed in the Blu Ray. Its a similar performance, yes, to Coney Island, and one could edit them together which I nearly did but the tempo was different and I didnt want to really flub it. But I could try if you'd like

Please, do try it! I'd love to see what you could come up with! I'm amazed you even managed to do all those instrumentals by yourself and how did you find that unused entr'acte?

By mixing between the centre channel and the rear surround sound channels of my blu-ray rip of 'Love Never Dies', I was able to come up with a few decent instrumental elements including just about the entire dressing room sequence from act two of the show. I can dig out what I did and post my results if anyone's interested?

I've also been able to get a number of instrumentals from the 2004 film version of 'The Phantom of the Opera' from various foreign DVD/Blu-Ray releases and once again, can post those here as well...

Incidentally, there is a leaked bootleg containing a number of the pre-recorded orchestra tracks from the same film, several of which (including the final lair scene) were posted on youtube a couple of years back. I have since tracked down someone who has them (or rather he tracked me down), but he isn't prepared to share them at any cost unfortunately. Perhaps someone on here as a copy of this bootleg?

phantomman, Do you have the Australian or the London edition of Love Never Dies? Either way, I'd love those instrumentals!

Thank you very much for this upload!

After browsing through the conductor's score (2010 version) I was interested in hearing what Mr. Webber came up with after 'Phantom'.

Thank you for your efforts!

Glad you all liked it. It took a little for this show to grow on me... when I first heard of it I was like "how dare he do this! A Sequel to Phantom?! wtf" but then as I learned more, and eventually saw this version, I cried... I watched it 3-4 times in one week because it was such a well done piece of work. I can't say the same for the earlier incarnations of which I'm less familiar, and although I love Ramin I'm not as won over by Sierra where as Anne O'Byrne had me the moment she stepped on the stage... and then minutes later had her first song (anyone else notice how SILENT she is for quite some time in the show? That caught my attention right away! I just HAD 'to hear [her] sing!' heh)

I'm glad people are still enjoying this as much as I do heh

So it was brought to my attention that people are selling my work. They are also misrepresenting MY edits as sessions and tricking people into trading for them.

I don't get money for my edits and I SHARE them freely for others to learn about them and enjoy them. I don't mind people sharing them, in fact, If I'm sharing, so can you! I think giving your friends these sets is an amazing way to spread knowledge and the love of film music and if an official printing comes along, it'll make you want it all that more...

But when it comes to my attention that MY work that I put ALL The energy and effort into to make sure it was 100% right (more than you can say about MANY labels which actually make REAL products you can buy), my labor of love... and people are tricking people with them? Posting them on EBAY? Selling them?? OTHER people are making money on them???

Watch how quickly my edits STOP GETTING POSTED.

If I see it again, then I'm removing all links.
