Hello !

Can you tell a complete new collector which are the best available CDs for the four Pirates of the Caribbean movies ?

I want to get them all, but a lot of the links are dead and I do not know which ones I should use.

Any complete CDs with artwork ?

Which one (still available) do you prefer ?

THANK YOU !

As a "complete new collector" you first need to understand what you are asking for. Be sure to read the second link in my signature for that.

As for the best available CDs? The original soundtracks are all we have for the best available CDs, plus the fourth disc of the Soundtrack Treasures Collection which includes several unused suites.

Next, technically none of the expanded material available for any of the Pirates movies is complete. There are expanded versions, but currently there are no versions that are 100% complete that are accessible to the public. However, there is a plethora of custom artworks for each of the films.

Be sure to read these posts: Pirates 1 links (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f96/pirates-caribbean-lossless-expanded-115740/#post2015190), Pirates 2 links (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f96/pirates-caribbean-lossless-expanded-115740/#post2015481), Pirates 3 links (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f96/pirates-caribbean-lossless-expanded-115740/#post2015481)

I never compiled a list of Pirates 4 links, but following the strategy I used in the above posts, you should be able to find them on your own.

Basically, What Dimensioner said. There are no official releases for "complete", or even expanded Pirates scores. The originally released albums are it. Unfortunately, they are lacking in several areas, including missing cues and poor mastering and sound. ANY album that includes extra cues, or "film " versions of track are by definition bootlegs, compiled by the various fans and members, most of whom are from here. Dimensioner there is a very accomplished historian of those particular scores. The clean cues can come from a variety of sources, such as samples posted on the various composer's websites, DVD menus etc. I think what I would ask him, if it were me, is what version of each score would he consider the most definitive, clean of tracks containing fx. No true complete version would fit that, but he still could help with a few of the expanded sets. IF you don't mind at least minimal fx from rips, than even more is possible. You really need to define more carefully what you want.

I would consider my edits of PotC2 and PotC3 to be the definitive versions hands down. Unfortunately, I am not ever re-uploading any of my stuff for reasons that I've already discussed elsewhere. The next best thing? Get Takeshi's expanded presentations for PotC1 and PotC3 and hunt down the Extended Experience for PotC2. As for Pirates 4, get the complete demos--if you don't mind synthesized sound.
