Your welcome Raucous80cat, it's a short soundtrack about 20 mins or so but still quite enjoyable.

A Timeless Classic !!! Many Thanks !!!

Strangely this was the movie I thought of when Ernest Borgnine died, his role helped make the movie.

A Timeless Classic !!! Many Thanks !!!

Strangely this was the movie I thought of when Ernest Borgnine died, his role helped make the movie.

I remember reading an autobiography on Spencer Tracy about 18 years ago or so and when he was filming Bad Day At Black Rock Ernest Borginine was offered the lead role in Marty and he almost turned it down.

Spence convinced him to take the role in fact I believe the shooting schedules overlaped a bit and Ernest Borginine ending up getting a well deserved Oscar for Marty. His role in Marty is the exact opposite of the creep he plays in Bad Day.

Always loved this movie! Thanks Wildwood! :)

Yes!!!
When I was a kid they use to play this a lot on TV, along with The Mountain and The Old Man And The Sea.
Perhaps the TV Chanel owner was a fan of Spencer Tracy, or perhaps they didnt have many movies on the library...Ja Ja

I have been to the area where this is filmed Lone Pine in Northern California, many films were filmed up there over the years.

What an outstanding and informative thread!

Also one of my all time favorite movies. The Previn score is about as good as it gets IMHO.

Thank you Wildwood Park, link received. One of the few scores by Mr. Previn but beautifully done. I am now eagerly awaiting the blu ray release of the film.
