Even at 192 kbps, the experience is a mammoth improvement over the truncated OST presentation. Short cues like "Escaping The Suck" are really cool as well.

3m46 seems to have the same defect. Both those tracks' tags were slightly different from the rest and 3m46 was the only track out of the whole set to: have album art, have an album title of "Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (Complete Score)", and have the artist listed as Jablonsky, Steve.

Those two tracks I noticed were defective. When I imported them into Audacity, they were both mono and started off with a loud popping noise. They also both sounded like they are being played in a tunnel.

....Er, I went to download 3m45a and it says it was deleted due to copyright infringement. Anyway, thanks for the re-rip!

Yes i need to agree with dimensioner: "3m46 model planes" quality sounds muffled and its one of the better unreleased tracks. That should be fixed :)
Also the ending of that 3m46 tracks is like two tracks mixed together...sounds complete out of sync...no idea what happened there ?

Confirmed, the track is gone. That was a fast deletion for Deposite Files.

I can load it, but I thought the OP was going to re rip the whole thing anyway? let me know. Also, I am hoping to get info on what pieces of the first film are on here but not the expanded sets we already have. I mean, would I need to keep all of these sessions to have the most complete, or can just a few missing pieces on this be slotted into the previous expansions.

Ummm, this is the complete score, so you would not need any of the previous expanded versions (not that there were that many to begin with). So far, I'm not hearing so many of the Sam's Theme cues from TF1 that got used in this film, though. Er, maybe I'm not following what you're trying to say.

While I'm back, and don't feel like posting in the DotM thread, it seems that 9m69B from that score is also defective.

After looking at the tracklist from Hans-Zimmer's fan-site, "Fun with Tazers" comes right after "Simmons in a Funk" (0:32).

DAKoftheOTA
07-06-2012, 08:29 PM
Yes, but then there's "3m45 Simmons on a Funk (Alternate)" right after "3m45 Simmons in a Funk". The HZ tracklist does not match what we have

KaFaraqGatri
07-06-2012, 08:32 PM
A tracklist is nothing, HZ.com always rearranges their cues. If it was me, I'd put 3m45a, 3m45, and then 3m45ALT. Or you can check em against the movie to see if its right.

DAKoftheOTA

Exactly. I'm going by what sounds right, except all the alternates on this set are the real ones, while the real ones are labeled as alternates. It's backwards

"3m49 Jetfire Rambles the Plot" also sounds like it's being played in a tunnel. Very muffled and drowned out, almost

As I said, somehow the ripping of the score ripped tracks into each other. I just reripped all the scores with another program and uploaded to Sendspace. I would download the new versions.
As for the sound quality on Transformers 2, I had to use 2 sources. The first copy I got was complete but the sound quality was not so great. Whoever at RCp down mixed the 5.1 to
stereo files did a bad job. Nothing we can do about that.

The second version I got had great quality, but sadly was missing about 15-20 cues. So I had to use those cues from the old version and added them to the new version.

I apologize, firstly, for talking about TF1 in the TF2 thread, and, secondly, for not being able to help ya out sooner, Amanda. Since I've started working at my summer job, I only have an hour of free time in the morning and, depending on the day, four to five hours of free time after work, with (obviously) no time to listen to music in-between.

I've decided to run through the trilogy of scores, and while I haven't completed my journey through TF1, I can give you a nearly accurate list of all the cues that are brand new in scorepranos' upload.

New: 2m25v2, 2m36, 3m40Alt, 5m60v1.0, 5m62b Alt, 6m72, and 6m75a alt. Other notes: Scorepranos uploaded the tracks listed here in italics a couple weeks ago in my Transformers Resources Thread. 6m75a should have a name, but I'm not on the correct computer to see what the name should be. 2m18 was on KaFaraqGatri's edit, as was 6m76. 2m18 should be named "Defcon Delta" or "DEFCON Delta". I think most of the OST ought to be on these sessions, although a couple of the tracks have different titles, most notably 5m66a and the cues that make up the last three tracks of the OST. 5m66b pt1 is the extended version of the track that can be found on MasterZPrime's share. I could continue on, but at this moment, that's all I can think of.

Sorry, i mean for Batman Begins the amazing tracks what everyone was waiting for are for examples "Train Fight" or "New Batman Theme". I was interested in Batman Begins, but not in the Transformer Series. So what i mean with that is, that i dont know which tracks from Transformers - Revenge Of The Fallen are the "cool" or "amazing" tracks, cause i never saw that movies.

tHAT...i CAN'T SAY, AS i HAVE NEVER HEARD THE LAST TWO SCORES OUTSIDE OF THE FILMS. bUT, i MUST SAY i THINK IT IS A PURELY PERSONAL CHOICE,. lISTEN TO IT. tHE TRACKS YOU DIG, WELL THOSE ARE THE AMAZING ONES. Besides, if it doesn't appeal to you personally, what's the point in having it anyway?

Thanks so much for this, many people have been waiting a long time for this. Excellent work, and thanks again.

I have a question though, and it may be nothing, but is this score missing cues? Looking at the track listing, sometimes it looks like there are some gaps, like between
TF2 4m56-57 Petra.mp3
TF2 4m58 Tomb of the Primes.mp3
should there be another track? Or is that simply the way that the score is arranged? I noticed this on the TF1 and DOTM scores as well and I was just curious.

The question has been asked and answered several times over. These are recording sessions for each film. If it was not recorded for the film during the sessions, it is not on here. Several of the tracks you are asking about are edited versions of tracks from the other films added (tracked) in after the scoring was done, during editing and post production. Same goes for any film edits you may be missing, that was all done in the editing phase, after the sessions were done and so are not on these sets.

Does anyone have a proper track list for this? I'm new to the music for TF 2 and 3 so before I put it on my iPod, I would just live to know how I need to organize them for the best possible listening experience. I believe there is a link at the Download Soundtracks site that has the list in Dark of the Moon recording sessions. The two tracks that need to be switched are 75. End Credits (2:05) and 76. Iridescent (4:00). And for the Revenge of the Fallen recording sessions... I'll try to look it up for ya.

Well, sometimes it doesn't work out so smoothly. Like for "Shard Drops", the version used in the film uses the alternate insert, but the whole cue isn't there. I was considering doing a film version edit of these recording sessions to get the extras and alternates out of the way, but with mp3 quality being on the slightly lower end, I'd rather not mess with the audio. I haven't taken a listen to the whole score yet, so I couldn't say whether the versions used in the film were consistently labeled as the alternates or not.

Has anyone made custom artwork yet? That's the last thing I need for this and TF3.

Custom artwork was embedded in 3m46 in scorepranos' first upload of this score and it is different from what was used on the HZ.com page for these sessions. A single track from DotM had artwork embedded in it as well, and this is the same as what's seen on HZ.com (since Hybrid says he used scoreranos' custom artwork for the page). I could offer you my custom design for RotF that I'd created for my DVD rip, but it's labeled as "Expanded Score" and I'd have to do a bit of work to change that wording

The only cover I really need is one for the first film.

I just used the official album cover. Granted it doesn't have expanded/complete on it but the words are so small to read on my iPod that it makes no difference to me. To each his own.

By the way I just got finished putting together my brand new ultimate edition upgrade compiling materials from two separate versions of the recording sessions plus bonus material from pretty much every version I've been able to find for Transformers. It's 88 tracks running 3 hours and 6 minutes. No dupes and all unique material. I'll work on getting it posted tomorrow.

Ah! Thank you!

BTW, Unused cues should ALWAYS be left in their intended order. Alternates, source music, and album/suite/concecrt versions should usually go after that. "Film edits" 9tracks mutilated to fit onto a post-production edited scene) should always be avoided (or at the very most placed as bonus tracks) unless we do not have the unaltered cue.

if i have to pick my favorite score out of the trilogy, i have to go with the first one. Transformers score is basically the template of the succeeding score he made and thus without it Revenge might have sounded differently although it comes next to my list and which goes last is of course DotM.

When TF1 came out, I liked the movie as a good modern reboot for the Transformers franchise that I grew up with in the 1980s (I was not a big fan of the many cartoon and toy reboots after my beloved G1 and and the admirable follow-up Beast Wars - felt that they cheapened and bastardized everything about TF). The one weak spot, I felt, was Jablonsky's score. I hated it. I actually remember being in the theatre and getting angry that the climatic battle between Optimus and Magetron had what sounded like Terminator's theme in it! I was like... WTH?!

Then TF2 came out and I felt like the score sounded better. I purchased the OST CD because I found it dirt cheap on eBay and it grew on me. I started liking it more and more, and couldn't wait for TF3.

In the meantime, I was unable to go back and purchase the TF1 OST CD because... well, it was just flat out hard to find and very expensive when you did find it. I was finally able to track it down for a decent price, but only after someone passed along those "Butter" DVD tracks. I still feel that it is a rather disjointed, amateurish and messy score, with three or four highlights of very good scoring with the rest being average at best. Disjointed was the main word that come to my mind.

When TF3 came out, the score blew me away. Jablonsky seemed to grow immeasurably with each score, and his layered battle music for the finale of TF3 was the highlight of the trilogy thus far. I'm now a fan of his and recently begun tracking down his other scores.

So, with that being said, TF3 is my favorite, TF2 is a close second, and TF1 a distant third in my book.

Honestly, I thought TF 1 was the best movie and score out of the three. I enjoyed the music from TF2, but never listened to the album. Probably because I felt the movie was very messy. TF3's score to me felt more like generic, trailer-like RCP music. Especially with one of the tracks directly ripping off Zack Hemsey's 'Mind Heist.' I will be re-listening through the TF2 and TF3 complete scores, and perhaps my opinion will change. Each to his own, I guess.

I know I am an in an extreme minority here, but I always had mixed feelings on TF1 - always felt that it was a good reboot for a larger audience, but as a lifelong fan/collector of G1, it was highly disappointing to my tastes as the Transformers took a back seat to the humans (understood WHY they needed to do it for the above mentioned wider audience and that it worked, but personally didn't like it).

I also felt that TF2 and TF3 each had superior, more complex plots and screen time for the Transformers (including vastly superior battle scenes) on top of having more layered scores (particularly the action scoring and the finale of TF3 in particular). The only thing in those is that there were at times some poorly placed adult jokes (c'mon, kids are supposed to be watching them) and that Shia's Sam Witwicky never grew up... he always stayed the same overly-excited and emotionally immature kid in every scenario they put him in. I could see in TF1, but that he kept acting that way in 2 and 3 without acting more composed was a poor character arc. The Transformers themselves, and the scoring, all took leaps forward, but that's not what critics and casual (non-Transformer fan) movie-goers care about, so that is why they were so heavily panned by critics and casual moviegoers.

And the scores were even further apart in my book. I still feel that TF1 was disjointed and not as layered. To me, it sounded like he grew as a composer in TF2 and TF3 as seen in the extended, intense and nicely thematically layered action scoring - particularly the finales in TF3 (and to a lesser degree TF2). I understand there's a spot or two that many accuse Jablonsky of plagiarizing another composer's score, but I did not hear that score or those cues he ripped off from, so I can't judge on that. Maybe the Remote Control fans like the simpler compositions and liked TF1 more, I don’t know. As first and foremost a John Williams fan – who layers complex themes throughout all of his action scores and has been doing so for decades - I appreciated the TF sequel scores more on that regard.

Especially with one of the tracks directly ripping off Zack Hemsey's 'Mind Heist.'

I wish you people accusing Jablonsky of plagiarism could hear yourselves. It sounds A LITTLE like "Mind Heist". So what?!?! Just because one piece of work sounds similar to another doesn't mean jack shit. If Jablonsky directly copied Zack Hemsey, the surely there would have been a lawsuit by now. In one segment of "3m46 Model Airplanes", it sounds identical to "Multiple Jacks" from AWE. Did Zimmer sue Jablonsky for plagiarism? Nope.

Seriously people, calm down. They sound similar, end of story. Get the f over it and move on already, its been over a year

I will also say this:

Steve Jablonsky is no Tyler Bates

It's ZACK Hemsey, DAKoftheOTA. However, I do have to agree with you. It is indeed pointless comparing two tracks and two (Hans and Zack, to be certain) composers.

It sounds A LITTLE like "Mind Heist".Are you kidding? It sounds almost IDENTICAL. It's as if Michael Bay used 'Mind Heist' as a temp track, and said "Here, Steve, mimic this music as close as possible without actually copying it." I'm not trying to say Jablonsky is a bad musician. In fact, I really enjoy much of his work ("Hope Runs Deep" from Gears of War 2 is one of my favorite tracks in all of video game music).

Yeah, because Bates does it on purpose, right? There was no Snyder asking him to mimic Titus's score because he loved the temp track. There was no other directors or who prefer Bates to make soundtracks with the "orchestral heavy metal" sound instead of a full orchestral score. Also, crimes as 300? If anything, Titus's score and Elliot Goldenthal became much more popular thanks to 300. Outside of film music community, nobody cares about the Titus/300 debacle which is something that don't get why people make such a big deal, like if Bates broke insde Goldenthal's house and stole his scores and then went screaming "Listen what I wrote! I'm a genius!".

A few minor details about this--perhaps I'm being nitpicky, but I thought I'd point them out. A lot more people than just Lorne Balfe contributed to this score--Hans Zimmer, John Sponsler, and Tom Gire, just off the top of my head (that might be all of them, unless you count Clay Duncan as well).

And one other thing: using the label "Original Motion Picture Complete Score" is a bit of an oxymoron, I think. The Original Motion Picture Score is what was available to purchase in stores; what we have here is what we could call the Complete Score (or Expanded Score or Recording Sessions, since all those phrases are thrown about so much these days that they've lost most of their meaning). So, labeling it as the "Complete Score" would suffice.

Other than those two little bits, the design and layout are really pretty good. Take my advice, or don't; sometimes I just feel like saying things that are on my mind.

For anyone interested, here is a track listing that widdles away the extra stuff, corrects the track running order, names a few "untitleds" and by and large presents a chronological and film accurate version. I left the unused cues in place because... actually I don't know why I did that...

Yes, exactly. It just happens that most of the tracks labeled "Alternate" on this particular upload are indeed the film versions... but a few aren't (i.e. Bee Weeps and Sam and Mikaela Find a Hut). And some are just oddly titled, like Nest Ops (Alternate)... which underscores the introduction of Wheelie and Soundwave. Therefore, it's the cue before NEST Ops, not an alternate version of it.

Ahh....nice catch. I hadn't noticed, because I didn't listen to it. I'll have to fix that right away and remove it from my "Alternates" section. What would you call it? "Wheelie sees the Shard"? "Wheelie Pursues Mikaela"? That's the best I can do off the top of my head lol

If this release were in a higher bit rate or true lossless form, I'd be looking forward to arranging these sessions the way they are portrayed in the film (film edits, film versions, small bits of DVD audio). Not so long ago, I caught the lossless bug, and now I only like to work with top quality audio. As the audio is right now, it's a bit too low quality for me to want to work with--but that's not to say that this quality isn't fantastic (at the very least, I'd hope to have corrected tracks for 3m45a, 3m46, and 3m49). I don't really want to decrease the audio quality any more. Perhaps an audiophile could tell me if my decision is unwarranted.

I tried doing this last night. ATTEMPTING to create film-accurate versions of 1m07 (replacing the second half of it with its respective insert cue) and 4m69-70 (by adding the "alt end" to Bumblebee Kicks Ass")

I'm not too keen on the mixes I've done so far (I mean I can upload them just to get an opinion) but as far as sound quality is concerned, I didn't experience as heavy of quality loss as I thought I would.

I had already completed a film edit for both 4m69-70 and 4m71 after those were posted on Lorne Balfe's website. For the alternate insert in 4m69-70, I just remixed that bit out of 6m73b from the Jablonsky sessions of TF1. I was thinking about tweaking it a bit--adding in the actual real insert--and then I suppose I could upload mine. I've kinda stopped sharing things around here because of the likelihood that my work will turn up on YouTube uncredited (among other things). But like the gus bus, if anyone is interested, I suppose I could upload what I've done with Balfe's tracks.

Not very good. I'm just too unwilling to go through the movie and mix 192k audio. I did those two tracks because I'm pretty sure those are the most drastically mixed in the film.

I'm sure when a lossless version leaks, people would be more willing to do a film accurate mix. Same goes for Dark of the Moon.
