Video Game Music Download Links (http://forums.ffshrine.org/video-game-music-download-links/)

In the above thread I see InfernalAvalanche posting links for games that never existed such as this:

Thread 117759

Isn't that against the rules? Could an admin please ask him to stop doing it.

I asked him here (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/sonic-cd-us-sega-genesis-117428/#post2024631) to stop doing that as it's misleading and he said he would stop but he's still doing it. He mentions it's fan made music inside the actual thread but that isn't much good when we've already been mislead into clicking the link - he should mention "fan made" in the title so people aren't mislead.

Also I notice people posting non-video game music as well. Who do I report that to to get those threads moved elsewhere?

You could just ask an admin directly yourself.

I don't think such threads are against the rules... Seriously, aren't you exaggerating a bit? I mean... "FFXI on the SNES?! Hey! Let me check for which platforms it was released->No mention of SNES->Still, the guy posted that kind of stuff on the VGMusic forum->Perhaps it has something to do with some kind of re-arrangement/edit->*looks at the usual description* Hm. Guess I was right.". A bit of knowledge on such titles, and you should automatically understand that stuff is actually 'fan-arrangement'.

Also I notice people posting non-video game music as well. Who do I report that to to get those threads moved elsewhere?
1) If you're referring to theads like the Gaming Artbooks one by Nocturnal Risk, or mine about the Strategy guides.... I'd think nobody would deny they don't really have a proper place on the forum, but they've both been around for quite a few years, now, so I guess the Staff doesn't mind the current situation.

2) If you mean the casual movie/anime soundtrack found in the VG subforum, let me remind/tell you there was a time when such division between the three didn't exist. Anime, Video Game, Movie~music... They were all posted in one big and rather messy Download Links forum. When stuff got separated, some awesome "thread-moving" took place, but a few of them have slipped.

Or you could just put (Arranged) or (fan made) at the end of future thread titles like you said you would do. It's not much good mentioning that they're fan made in your post as people have already been tricked into clicking the thread link.

But if you don't have knowledge of such titles and aren't interested in arranged music then you've been tricked into clicking the link! Not everybody is looking for music from a specific game. Some people just come here looking for new music and don't necessarily own the games so they don't know if the music is arranged or not unless the uploaders says so in the thread title.

I don't mind strategy guide links, etc. It's just recent movie soundtrack threads I've seen which do not belong here. There's a dedicated thread for that so I don't understand why an admin hasn't moved those threads. I'm sure I've told an admin about such a link before and the thread still wasn't moved.

Then to all those tricked into clicking my misleading title links...I'm sorry for wasting a minute or so of your precious Internet time.

It's not the time wasted that's the problem, it's the fact that you're intentionally misleading people. Your sarcastic attitude just confirms that you're looking for attention with your misleading thread titles so I've unsubscribed from this thread as I don't think you're going to change.

Okay, settle down holygamer. You've made your point - there is no need to keep attacking him like that. And as Leon stated, as far as I can see InfernalAvanlanche hasn't really done anything wrong. Sure, his thread titles may not be exactly one-hundred percent accurate, but really, if you believe everything you see stated on the internet as true, then you're either very innocent or just plain gullible.

I'm sorry if it seems like I'm having a go at you, as that is not my intention. I'm just putting on my moderator-peacekeeper hat on and trying to stop this from becoming a flame war.

It's cool, he pretty much said he ended it and I tried to mull things over by apologizing on his profile. Anyway, thanks for helping out and I hope something like this doesn't happen again.
