Hello, Im new to the forums. I like classical music, heavy metal, electronica.
To say specifically what genres would probably take too long but in general there are few styles I really dislike or can't appreciate at some level.
Gaming wise I used to own gameboy colour, advance, DS (first edition (I think)), gamecube, xbox. Top games would have to be F-zero GX, Burnout Takedown, Soul Calibur II and Xonotic(the only game I accasionally play nowdays)
I used to watch anime and read manga (Black Lagoon, Ghost in the Shell, Naruto, Battle Royal, .Hack, anything Studio Ghibli etc...)
Ive been browsing the forums and wondering if anyone can make any recomendations on soundtracks of a futuristic electronica style. I'm not looking for anything classical or symphonic as I can just back and listen to the masters (in my opinion I think I'm going to get some flak for saying this) e.g. Haydn, Haendel, Tchaikovsky, Verdi etc...and in comparison I haven't listened to anything that's a match for their work.
Im open to electro with metal in it but not the reverse.
Yeah Im being picky I know sorry but if anyone has any recomendations without me having to resort to typing in games soundtracks on youtube; too hit and miss for me.

Tron:Legacy? I was referring only to game soundtracks but yes thats an idea. Thanks impudent urinal. Strange name.

you can also take a listen to Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed since most of the game's tracks are electronic based remixes of SEGA's franchises such as Space Harrier and Super Monkey Ball

Transistor OST by Darren Korb. In addition to lots of electronica, there's some post-rock and a little bit of soul in there as well.
System Shock 2 OST has lot of acid techno and electronica going on it.

Look for the VGM score for Mechwarrior 2 from 1996 or so. Really enjoy that one from time to time.

This response comes about six years late, but I wanted to back up the recommendations for Cliff Martinez's scores for Solaris and Contagion. I'll also add that since those posts were made, he and Steven Soderbergh went on the make The Knick, which has a similar feel to Contagion. It's interesting to me that a story set in the 1900s would have such an anachronistic, electronic soundtrack, but it works by complimenting the scientific progress depicted in the show. It also sounds great apart from the series.
Speaking of the the past, if anyone wants to hear what people imagined the future would sound like in the '50s, check out the soundtrack to The Forbidden Planet. It's the first entirely electronic film score, and a kitsch reminder of a more curious time.
