Like TM's Top 10 Favorite Horror Villains (Thread 47987), but here it can be a bad guy(s) from any movie. I haven't seen a lot of films, but here would be my picks. I invite others to offer their top 10 as well!

Honorable Mention: Science Officer Ash - Alien

10. Colonel Walter E. Kurtz - Apocalypse Now

9. Richard Gecko - From Dusk Till Dawn

8. Frank Booth - Blue Velvet

7. The Joker - The Dark Knight

10. Science Officer Ash - Alien
Good choice.

9. Colonel Walter E. Kurtz - Apocalypse Now
hum don't think kurtz was a real antagonist at all. The real antagonist was the war and all the psychological damages it causes, in which Kurtz is its physical allegory
Actually i think the character of Martin Sheen understands how and what happened to Kurtz and somehow turned sympathetic to him, that in the end became another "Kurtz".

8. Drexl - True Romance
Never seen the movie.

7. Frank Booth - Blue Velvet
I only watched this movie once and that was a very long time ago, but from what i remember he was a kind of a psychotic or a rapist character. A good choice for an antagonist i guess.

6. Richard Gecko - From Dusk Till Dawn
I thought he was one of the good characters, but again i havent watched the movie in a very long time to remember. He could be a villian but i dunno.

5. Jack Torrance - The Shining
Good choice.

4. The Joker - The Dark Knight
The joker of the new movie acts like he was a spoiled kid that only wants to get some attention. The joker in the Burton movie was way more threatening for Gotham. Comparing the two, the Joker in the Burton movie killed much more people and laugh a lot more along the way than Nolan's Joker.

3. Angel Eyes - The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
In short, yes, he's the antagonist, but the other two don't have any good intentions either. They just do different things to get the gold.

2. Hannibal Lector - Silence of the Lambs
Another great choice

1. SD Colonel Hans Landa - Inglourious Basterds
Never seen the movie.

Well I dont think Im able to settle a complete list but here are some characters that are for me unforgetable

Pennywise the clown from IT => the very famous serial killer clown who started an universal phobia about the clown and their horrible make up.

Jack Torrance from shinning => his wife was a complete idiot during all the film , seriously who wants to go up in the mountain in a deserted hotel with Jack Nicholson?

The T1000 or whatever the number is, interpreted by Robert Patrick in Terminator 2 => He does not say a word in the movie and remains scary , great acting as well.

The xenomorph from the alien movie => Made to kill , very clever and the most handsome monster ever made.
