Today is my son's 1 year birthday! I'll post this children's classics for all of you, and your kids if you have some. I've played the other version to my daughter (at 3 several months ago), but it seems too symphonic even at the intro when the timpani gets in. Probably to find a video or DVD of this film is an easier start for children.
This disc is called full soundtrack to the 1996 carton film. Slightly different from the standard version, it has three narrators, Kirstie Alley, Ross Malinger (as Peter) and LLoyd Bridges (as grandfather). The disc has three sections:
1-16, Prokofiev's score with narration.
17-31, Prokofiev's score without narration (Hard to find anywhere else).
32-43, additional music written by Cameron Patrick.
All conducted by George Daugherty, with RCA symphony. My own rip, FLAC ~260MB.
