But I've yet to see a decent compilation of the OST and the subsequent "bonus" material that has surfaced since. As per usual, this edit was made by me FOR ME. I am now sharing it for those who may be interested in hearing all of this music in a nice, equalized volume and balanced sound. Is there a reason why WINAMP won't play this? I can get it to play on windows media player, but not winamp.

i downloaded this and my thoughts are....quite an improvement on the ost. firstly you have edited the tracks well with a nice flow, true to movie listen with the content you used. secondly the sound, im not a fan of reduced volume levels or tampered with sound unless it is needed, and boy was it needed in this score. The ost was way to booming for headphone listening. There was a lot of moments when all i could hear is drowned out music. But your version is much more easy to listen to.

Welp, now I can't even upload anything! I keep getting "error pj319" messages... Something must be seriously wrong with this site. Look, prior to Megaupload being shut down they were the only site I ever used. Audio newbie here. What's the difference between a regular cd and a session?

This is like asking someone to explain the Arab Spring...

After a score is composed it needs to be recorded for use in the film. The musicians get together and all the various cues are recorded, often with multiple attempts for each cue, until the composer / producers / whoever, are satisfied with the results. The recordings are termed The Sessions or Film Sessions. This process can be spread over days or weeks. After the film has been completed the Producers / Composer / whoever determine if a commercial recording is to be released of the music. The film sessions will form the base point of this second process, but may be added to by further recordings or even completely replaced by a new one depending on the composers wishes and the budget available. The regular cd is the result of all this. The sessions, be they the album sessions or the film sessions are further back in the process. Anything labelled as "sessions" can be from anywhere in this process, and even sometimes include partially recorded cues and cues later dropped from the process, due to scenes being deleted or re-edited, e.t.c. "True" sessions are created officially as part of the film / recording processes. "fake" or "fan" sessions are created by enthusiasts by often ingenious means based on what they have to hand.

That is a very simple summary of the process.
