Greetings,

I have been lurking your forums and downloading for some time. Finally I have something to share.
It's a rip of the music from the F2P FPS Blacklight: Retribution, which may be free but has really high production quality, including the short but nicely sounding soundtrack.
The sounds are a mix of darkstep and dubstep, with drum elements reminiscent of Kenji Kawai's Ghost in the Shell. The game sounds dark and cyberpunk-ish. Have fun listening to this.

Playtime: 10:41, filesize: 9,13 MB, no of tracks: 12
Download BLR ripped OST.rar from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way (http://www.sendspace.com/file/bygoaq)

The rip includes a layered track, SB_Music002, which is divided into parts from 001 to 008 and 000 being them all put together by me. It has been converted from .bnk to .ogg.

Will check it out, thanks.

Blacklight was definitely an undercooked product, even as a free release. But it certainly gave me an impression that there is potential. I though the designs were cool and overall style of presentation was good enough. Plus with a name like (reminds me of something from Prototype) - you gotta give it a try :P

Would you mind sharing with us how did you extract those? I've been wanting to get the new songs out of it, like the netwar one for an example.

Hey gdp, I first ripped the contents of the BLR_Client.hogg file, which is a standard format in Perfect World Entertainment. The beta sound files were not stored in .hogg, they were just there in the game directory.
The music was in .bnk files, which I extracted using bnkextr, then applied wav2ogg and revorb. As the format is fairly popular, the tools and methods for using them, including helpful batch files are fairly easy to find.
Hope this helps and that I was not too late. I'll need to see if this NetWar music is actually new or recycled from what I posted here. If they are new, I'll add them to this thread by the end of the month.
