Did you ever really change classes in battle??? I didn't really tend to. I just set them to what I wanted before battle, and kept them there in battle. Maybe when I get further into the game I will need to change classes, but as for now, I don't see how it is needed, it's fun and somewhat useful, but isn't required for to win...

I try to vear away from going 3 Warriors, it makes the game too easy.

Usually in a chapter, I try to get everyone's ability in every class one by one.

Later on, you probably might want to change classes... mostly in boss battles and when you need the special sphere.

Sometimes I will change class during battle to get some white magic, or thievery, or gun magic, but usually I will keep it the same. Outside of battle - changing quite often, usually once I've mastered all the abilities in one class. That way, I get to check out more of the different looks and also make my characters more versatile.

i never had the same job given to more than one person. i never used the specials, either. heck, i didnt even change my grid once.

but i did change them in battle quite often. i had everybody with two that they could be until the end of the game--rikku had one (thief with bushido lore), paine had two (warrior and b mage with arcana thing), and yuna had gun mage, white, and alchemist (she was still learing alchemy--999 ap for that one thing)

i did change them just to see the outfits though.

I think you mean Elixir, that's what costs 999 AP. Are you planning on getting the perfect ending? If so, then you'll probably end up needing to change grids / spheres sooner or later and you'll also get to see some pretty neat stuff.

Uhh...

I beat the game a while back... at the mere level of 45... Paine and Rikku were warriors and did NOTHING but physical attacks... and Yuna was a White MAge and did NOTHING but Esuna, Pray, and CURA, not Curaga, CURA... Yeah, there was absolutely no point in changing classes in battle... the game was far to easy, I never even used the special spheres...

You beat the game, wow. You know, I think a lot of people are short-selling this game. Have you gotten Episode Complete for the various sections? Have you beaten the Bevelle Dungeon? If you're not trying for any of this stuff, then you're not seeing anything close to the best that the game has to offer and you're going to be disappointed.

bevelle dungeon is scary!!!

anyway, why are people complaining about this game. the bosses aren't that much, but there's bonus fights you can get into that can be challenging. dresspheres are fun, but again you don't have to use them. i personally like the different modes and the different abilities you can learn. i'm working at mastering all the dressphers for my new game plus, and i like it.

*shrug*

p.s. sphere changes are pretty ^_^

"Beating" a game is to defeat the game.... it means jack to none when it comes to completing the game. You can beat a man 1 out of 10 times but you are far from knowing everything he knows.

lol, never said anything about the rest of the game, I merely rented it and didn't have the time to do the side-quests and stuff (I rushed)... I merely said that class changing was useless in my opinion...

Well, it's just that you were complaining about it being too easy, but there are some things aren't so easy.

And in the other thread you said that you were "disappointed with Square Enix's work," but you shouldn't be disappointed. Once you've had a chance to actually play through some of the sidequests and get the Episode Completes and stuff, I think you're going to be really impressed.

i think you guys should chill out.

i havent played very far myself, but thats only because someone stole (yes i kid thou not, STOLE) my station, but i thought changing sheres mid-battle was just a barrel of monkeys! i mean, arent the battles kinda boring without it?

bottom line: thats what makes this ff cool, right?

well that and real time battles *grin*

Early on I've been switching classes like crazy, usually to bring in a class that can better handle a certain monster. Now, any type of monster doesn't really pose much of a threat so I could use any class I want. I usually just stick to a certain class that I'm learning AP for. Currently, Yuna is working on Samurai, Rikku on Dark Night, and Paine on Berserker. My Rikku has fallen behind in AP. Yuna and Paince have like 3-4 classes mastered (including the Gun Mage Fiend Hunter abilities), and Rikku only has 2! I guess Thief takes up a lot more AP.

Now that I've gotten used to it, I find it pretty easy and quick to do spherechanges to access special things like Break HP Limit or Finale. With the animation set to "off," it hardly takes any time at all and doesn't really give the enemy a chance to attack either.
