It being the only FF that has not touched the US yet... do you actually want to play it if it was re-released?

I would definately play it if it was ever re-released, and yes i was thinking about this a while back too. Dunno why it never came out...

I would, I love it! It is really fun. the first FF that didn't 'miss' whenever a character had already killed the intended target the next character was supposed to hit (it transfers to another monster that is currently living, like in 99% of all other RPG's to date)... It was also the first to implement a Job Class system, that we so enjoy in FFV, FFTactics, FFTA, and FFX-2 ^_^

i would play it, but i probably wouldnt like it. i dont like any classic ffs besides 4 and 6.

im not too keen on jobs, either.

so im not sure if i would buy it, but i would DEFINITELY make the effort to play it.

FF3(j) is better than 4. I'd get it. I thought that it was scheduled for a release out here in some form. =\

They seriously need to release it. It's messing up my FF mojo, or something. Or I could download the rom and a patch and play it, instead on sitting on my ass.

has it not been released on PSX?

1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 were released on the PSX. But they skipped out on 3 for some odd reason.

how is it a crappy translation? if it's not the one by demiforce, then you should get his, as it's the best one for ff3j

There was this one song from FF3 that was remade into a vocal track... maybe they can shove that into the re-release... if it ever comes out. :(

*flips through his Final Fantasy collection*

Final Fantasy TA, 10-2,10, 9, 8, 7, 6, Anthology - that's 4 and 5, Origins, that's 2 and 1...

...I knew there was something missing >=(

Eh, there's still hope - I know in America Anthology was 5 and 6, and you had some other thing with Chrono Trigger and 4. Over here, Anthology was 4 and 5, and 6 was released seperately - so hopefully Square will just release 3 seperately.

...that's a lot of numbers.

Here (USA) it's...

Anthologies: 5 'n' 6
Chronicles: 4 'n' Chrono Trigger
Origins (sp?): 1 'n' 2

I agree with MK

the americans completly ruined the FF Number system =(

so i start a talk about FF III they say "Yeah terra was in that one"

what about the 4 orphan boys that find a crystal in a mine and save the world =(

anyways..

Do they actially intend to release it in Europe and America soon?

Also i get confused when the Americans refer to FF2 as FF4 and FF3 as FF6, if thats the case then to the Americans what number does FF4 and FF6 go by?

// You've got it the wrong way around. They used to refer to FF4j as FF2 and FF6j as FF3. This was because they never saw FF2j, FF3j, or FF5j. So FF4j was the second FF game they saw and FF6j was the third. But that doesn't really matter anymore. ~
// Nowadays the tricky numbering policy is over. The older FF's are being released in packages but under their original titles. So, the rest of the world now has FF1, FF2, FF4, FF5, FF6 and onwards. The old numbering policies are now only good for identifying old Nintendo cartridges and for discussion in Classic Final Fantasy threads. Threads such as this one. ~
// And for anyone who's interested, FF3 is like a less advanced version of FF5 in terms of gameplay. Which is good since FF5 has maybe not the most advanced, but most fun system there is. It's definately worth a play and there are plenty of translated FF3 NES Roms out there if you look. ~

You know, I think Square might have something special in mind for FF3. When they rereleased the FFs on the WonderSwan Color handheld in Japan, they released FF1, FF2 and FF4 - missing FF3 once again.

Perhaps they're doing what the did to FF1, and improving the graphics and gameplay - if you notice in Origins, FF1 is improved while FF2 remains the same. Perhaps the release of FF3 will be an improved one.

Or maybe it won't happen at all ;_;

MogKnight
03-28-2004, 08:45 PM
FF2 was improved too. o_O;

Raidenex
03-29-2004, 01:39 AM
Yeah, but not as much as FF1 - just look at the screenshots on the back, and compare the graphics of the two. FF1 looks better, for crying out loud :p

// I'd like to see them put into proper sets. Like the NES games on one disc for PS and the SNES games on another dic for PS. Or maybe all six on one DVD for PS2. That'd be sweet. And dont tell me there's not enough disc space. ~
