What do you think of it? I am about 5 hours into the game now, and so far I have kind of mixed feelings about it. I like the voices better, the graphics are better the gameplay is fast and fun, and the story is interesting and amusing so far. BUT I don't like the dialogue too much so far, I don't like what they have done with some of the characters, and I absolutely detest the music.
The game just isn't very Final Fantasy-ish, but it is still fun. I guess I'll see what I think of it after I've finished it.
So what do you guys think of it so far?

I don't know about you guys but I love the music. :O
And yeah, it's not really Final Fantasy-ish. It's not a Final Fantasy Introducing game really, it's just a spin-off. One thing that could of been nice if the Class Changing wasn't too distracting from battle.

I'm pretty far in.
I must say.. I like it so far.
The battle system is awesome, mainly because the faster the battle, the more fun it is. Also, I didn't think the music was too bad; some of it is actually kinda good. The voices are better than FFX's voices, IMO.
At this point I'll give it a
8.5/10.

I must say that FFX-2 is definately very enjoyable. The graphics, the music and the battle system all impress me.
I just picked up the copy yesterday so I haven't gotten to far yet. It seems like it will be a very satisfying game.
Did anyone happen to laugh at the opening scene? Oh god, Final fantasy meets American Idol.
*SPOILERS*
Yes i laughed there too! I'm just glad it wasn't actually Yuna, because when I heard her voice I was just like "What the hell??? Is she sick or something?"

Yes, I know what you mean, Loki.
I played it today for the first time, but I just cant make a clear statement...
Pros: The graphics are excellent... and the movements are somewhat funny.
The voice actors are great as ever! ^^
Everthing is so colourful... it hurts :D
The battles are, lets say, more alive! ;)
Cons: Well... it seems like since Sin is gone, they dont have much clothes left... or whatever the reason is: Why do they have to dress like ... like... well, Yknow--- :eye:
Nooot enough male characters! Not a single word about Auron! Not-a-single!!! Its Final Fantasy 10 (at least ... a little...) and when I think of Final Fantasy 10 I always think of Auron!
dont laugh. For me it was cause of him, that I enjoyed it sooo much. Now I hope that they will find a solution to get everybody back. I mean, if that Tidus- guy can come, Auron can come too! :p
Dont misunderstand, I will play it and I hope it will have some cool scenes, but if it stays like that (giggling, half- dressed girlies running around) I wont be enjoying it so much. :(
And where did the victory song go?
"Lady Auron"

Personally, I hate the music... They should have kept Nobou Eumatsu on the music team... I checked the credits and it's just 2 random people I haven't even heard of in charge of the music...
It didn't really have an FF kinda feel to it... And they still won't refer to Tidus by his real name... It's still just "him."
Anyway, I thought the job class system was great, and I love how much open exploration you can have, since the entire map is available from the beginning... There is lots of stuff to do on the side that isn't absolutely nessecary... Not to mention the amount of mini-games I've run into so far...
I also really liked the graphics... The CG movies seemed to be even better then I expected... Character facial expressions were new, and I quite enjoyed the expressions (though they looked corny at times)...

when i first saw pictures of the characters i thought i would hate the game. i still don't like yuna using guns and bearing all to the world, and i don't see how rikku could save the world in a bikini.
but i really love the game! i'm at the end of chapter four (after the second concert). i love the characters and the story and the graphics and everything. the only thing i don't like is most of the mini-games. ugh. lightning tower callibration? gunners' gauntlet? what cruel, cruel people came up with those?!
a few points.
-they have to refer to tidus as "him" because in the first game you could change his name. remember in ffx they never could say his name either...they only could say "you this" and "you that"?
it's a stupid excuse though. i wish they could just talk about him as tidus instead of "him" or "you-know-who"
-when rikku is in samurai form, she wears auron's coat and uses his sword. it is the most adorable thing ever!! i love using her on samurai just because of that. too bad she doesn't have a sake jug at her side...
anyway, overall i love the game and i think it is sooo cute! i love the friendship between yuna, rikku, and paine. i love sphere changing (except i feel behind because there's so many skills to master).

Things I like so far:
Sphere Break - What a neat idea! Fast-paced, rewarding and requires you to use your brain and think on your toes.
Al Bhed digging - Reminds me of Final Fantasy IX's chocobo-digging, except in this case, you have "X"s to tell you where to go and the challenge is to be fast and not get too</I> greedy.
Being able to get the "Charm Bangle" accessory too early, it's nice to be able to turn off random battles if you don't want them.
Spherechange - I actually turned off the change seqeunces, but they are really cool to watch when you do get to see them.
Shinra - My new second-favorite minor character above Maechen. (I just love listening to Maechen.)
All of the different neat things that the girls say in battle. (Obviously, since I'm compiling a list of them.)
Things I don't like so far:
Blitzball - It seems like it's been totally messed up. They should have left a good formula alone or just not included it.
Kimahri - He will never be cool.
Calm Land minigames - most of them seem lame and hard to win.
Re: Tidus being referred to as "him" - you have to wonder though because they were actually very clever in Final Fantasy X in that none of the characters ever, ever referred to Tidus by name.

True, they never referred to him as Tidus in the first FFX, but still, if they are never going to call him by his name, then they should never have given him a name at all in my opinion... I can understand that he needs a default name and all, but I don't know why they can't call him by his name in FFX-2, just so those who haven't played FFX can actually know what his friggin name is...

Congratulations on reviving an over three-year-old thread by banned poster to ask for advice about beating a fairly easy set of bosses.
I mean, what's with it? Do people not see the "New Thread" button? Why revive an old thread to ask a question that has nothing to do with what the topic was about?
