Which Orchestra is performing?

Orchestre de l'Opra de Paris aka Paris Opera Orchestra

Thank you for those who didn't know that performance - Paris Opera Orchestra - which is, IMHO, the best one !

Fantastic post !

Thanks for the info. Is it an official album, a sort of a bootleg, a recording of a live performance? In soundtrackcollector.com I couldn't find any information.

It's an official limited release sold with a book and it's not a live performance but a "studio" recording.

I have it - I listened to 4 (or 5?) releases of 'Vertigo'. In my opinion this is the best.

On the contrary, my friend, soundtrackcollector does have information on this recording:

Vertigo- Soundtrack details - SoundtrackCollector.com (http://soundtrackcollector.com/title/2761/Vertigo)

It's the very first entry ("Artangel 99003") for the labels!

Thank you, codyap09!

via Wikipedia: This recording, with James Conlon conducting the Paris Opera Orchestra, is the only recording to date to feature the entire Bernard Herrmann score for Vertigo. All 42 cues are included, though the CD presents them as one long 74 minute track. This CD is not as accessible as the previous two, as it was not released on its own. It was included with the now out-of-print Douglas Gordon book, Feature Film.

Thank you for this really rare recording, Codyap09. Thank you for spliting the single track.

Before this recording appearing, I always thought the McNeely version is the best as there is no Herrmann's own conducting/recording of the original soundtrack. This one is equally good. Can't help thinking why there is no proper release of the Paris version!
