You need a FLAC player, which can be downloaded from the net. I use Audacity on my Mac, and also Max and Cog. It depends on your computer. There are lots of FREE players out there.

Those are the same as FLAC files it's just that the filenames were clipped on some of the tracks, hence the FLA abbreviation. They still will play as FLAC files and all the track information will show up in your media player.

xACT, which I use to convert flac to apple for iTunes refuses to recognise them. Cog won't play them either. Tried changing extension to flac and still nothing. What do they work on? (mac style if possible please)

EDIT: Just realised I have Audacity on my Mac. Will see if that can convert.

Okay, I took the track JO6F11~1.FLA and changed the extension to JO6F11~1.flac

It then converted to JO6F11~1.aiff using xACT

It then played in iTunes.

It also played in Audacity as JO6F11~1.flac

Weird, I try the very same thing and xACT won't even look at it. Putting them through Audacity now, looks like that should sort it out.

Media Monkey plays them fine without any conversion.

I'm using xACT version 1.4b24

My xACT is 2.18. Anyway, I found that importing the flac file to Audacity and then just exporting it as a flac file seems to fix it. The new copy works in xACT and Cog ok. The wonderful world of computers!
