Hi. I am new to this site and to downloading music in general. I have been having a few issues with rapidshare and multiipload and would like some advice.
1. I have not been able to access any downloads that are posted on multiupload for the past few days. A message states that the connection has timed out and the multiupload site was taking too long to respond. I have not had this issue with them before. Is there something going on with that site or is something wrong with my computer like a virus??
2. On downloads from rapidshare, not all the time but once in awhile, the download will run for about five seconds then freeze for about fifteen seconds then start up then freeze and do this the entire time and it takes forever to download the music. Is this a common problem with rapidshare or is it just my computer or internet connection?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Don't know about your rapidshare problem, but i haven't been able to access multiupload for two weeks. I wonder what's going on over there.

RapidShare simply returned to its old habit of "freezing" downloads for free users (you could probably blame it on the sudden increase in traffic they've got with the closure of MEGAUPLOAD). It's not a problem on your end.
Multiupload is likely closed.

Thanks for the help. The rapidshare problem has been happening to me off and on for almost a year and I have always wondered what the issue was. Thanks again!!

To be honest, Rapidshare, while it has a lot of merit if you're a paying customer, generaly behaves like a dick with free users. And since the fall of MU they have taken extra measures to avoid being widely used for illegal filesharing. The easiness with which we could DL from MU as free customers is nothing but a memory, as even MF is beginning, it seems, to suspend accounts and delete stuff.

MediaFire never really stopped, actually, they're pretty fast with deleting stuff when they get takedown notices, unlike MU which simply "ignored" them :D
At least MF accepts again archives with password, i still remember when you wasted time uploading... and the verifying process basically told you to screw off 'cause your archive got a password.

.....Multi has been gone since MU was taken down. Not just links, but i am not able to access my own account. I would write off anything from there. I have not had any Mediafire issues just yet.

I'm beginning to suspect Multiupload was related to Megaupload. that and the fact they never suspended the option to upload to MU makes me think they were related.

Quite possible.
Anyway, I'm bummed to find multiupload not working as I just found an obscure movie soundtrack posted to this site, but it's a multiupload link. Guess I'll try to PM the uploader.
