Track Listing:
Note: I retained most of SonicAdventure's recent edits while modifying some of them to be most listenable to me. He did a great job at tightening up the pace but there was more to be done. Details are in comment box #52 as to what was done here.
I kept the title as just the "complete score" instead of "deluxe edition" due to SonicAdventure already mastering a deluxe edition. This is sourced from his most recent mastering with the exception of my edits. If SA has any issues with my re-posting this, I'll take it down.
Enjoy!

This is incredible! I deleted the regular recording sessions and settled for the commercial release because it was to exhausting to listen to and so many different versions of cues, but this is now my definitive version!
Thank you very much!

I agree. I found the recording sessions rather difficult to just sit down and listen to since it's broken up and it provides a rather disjointed experience, not to mention the fluctuating volumes but the one true advantage was the far superior sound quality (after a recent listen to the album it sounds that the life was flattened out of the music and it felt incomplete) that they offered. Happy to hear you liked it!

Here's a re-worked version of the King Kong Theatre Source suite. I added a new (and in my opinion, better) opening and added a new cue I had previously missed. Here's the link:

One of your favorite scores growing up? Dear Lord. This isn't that OLD a film. ;-)
I liked the original CD... better quality and full efforts with chorus & synths.... but I haven't listen to your effort.

A big thanks from me for this too!
You did an excellent job in presenting James Newton Howard's KING KONG score
in a complete form edited and mastered for a more cohesive listening.
I enjoy every minute of your work - this is exactly how this marvellous score should be presented.
Greetings, Klaus.

New link up! This version (like SonicAdventure's) is my version 2.0. While I really liked the crossfading of each track into the next, I did find trouble with some of his mixing choices.
For instance, I moved the first part of his track "Defeat is Always Momentary" back into the end of the track "Carl Presents the Map" and faded-out using the same cue from the sessions at the end for a natural fade-out. My new version of the track "Defeat is Always Momentary" is its own track now but does fade into "A Fateful Meeting" like SA's did.
The crescendo of the track "Stampede" does not signal the end of disc 1 on my version but instead crossfades into Raptors, like it has been since I started doing these. I don't like that gap as I feel the music should keep going.
"Kong-Log" was another problematic track as it did not fade seamlessly to the next track entitled "Lizards" as well as it should've. In fact, I don't think they should crossfade into each other at all, hence why I used the fade-out approach for "Kong-Log" at the end and the fade-in approach for "Lizards".
At the end of the track "Beauty Stayed His Hand", I brought the introduction of "The Army Attacks" in a little sooner. Between the tracks "The Empire State Building" and "Final Battle", it was my goal to tighten things up a bit more so there are practically no breaks in the music beginning at "Beauty Stayed His Hand" all the way to the end.
Update: since uploading I have crossfaded "Empire State Building" into "Final Battle". The link for those tracks is in the original post.

Ive finally listened to it. Personally, I dont think that the crossfade from "Carl Presents The Map" to "Defeat Is Always..." works that well. There is the difference of tonality which makes it - in my ears - sound a bit odd. Yet I understand the reason to do it. After all, the introduction to "Defeat..." came shortly after "Carl Presents The Map" in the movie. They are connected by the story, yes, but musically they dont fit that well. While I tried to mirror the movies' storyline as close as possible with the music, I found that it didnt work in some cases. I regard this as such a case.
The crescendo of the track "Stampede" does not signal the end of disc 1 on my version but instead crossfades into Raptors, like it has been since I started doing these. I don't like that gap as I feel the music should keep going.
Ive always admired this crossfade of yours. For my second version, I wanted the first disc to end with action and the second one to start with action - but I also wanted a deliberate pause in order to relax the listener when changing CDs. The bunch of action related pieces can be a bit much after a while.
In that case I sacrificed tonality consistency for musical flow. "Kong-Log" ends so suddenly that I felt it needs to continue in some form, hence the crossfade into "Lizards".
When doing my Version 2.0 I too attempted to crossfade "Army Attacks" sooner than the version I ended up with. In the end however, I viewed it as another case where I needed to follow how the music was used in the picture. They included a pause to amplify the impact of the grenade fired by the military. Furthermore, at this point the movie makes a 180 degree turn in tone and atmosphere, it also initiates the movies' final, highly dramatic and painful act. So I too included a pause to heighten the impact of "Army Attacks".

CodyAp09, I love your new edit taking Sonics's fantastic new mix and conforming it to the edit you made years back. So kudos and many thanks to both Sonic and CodyAp!
Just wanted to bring one detail to Codyap09's attention (if you hadn't already noticed it). The first of your corrected tracks doesn't bring the transition to the bi-plane battle in a little sooner (like your full album edit did), but that track does flow into the next track tighter as your original album edit did. Was that intended to revert back to Sonic's edit?
