MR. NORTH (unreleased score by David McHugh) (LOSSLESS) (FLAC)
Danny Huston’s charming 1988 film about a stranger with special healing powers sports an equally charming score by David McHugh that was sadly never released. The film is set in 1920s Rhode Island and the music has a pleasant old-fashioned feel to it (smaller orchestra, no electronics, bittersweet melodies). Years later I was thrilled to come across a stereo promo CD, and here it is! 14 track totaling about 27 minutes.
Source: CD (promo from the Zomba Screen Music Agency)
Audio quality: Good stereo sound with some tape hiss. No dialog or sound effects.
Tau Analyzer and EAC indicated all tracks to be lossless.
Ripped to FLAC w/XLD.

Special note: prior to uploading this score I sent an e-mail to Mr. McHugh expressing my fondness for this music and asked for his thoughts about my sharing it online. Here is his reply...
Here's my personal philosophy about sharing:
Buy an apple. You get seeds. Plant the seeds. You get an apple tree, and, apples. Nature intends for everything that is created to continue to create. I compose music. I do not do so to receive money. I/we need money to exist. Once one has sufficient money to be, it's not necessary to continue to demand compensation for that which one created. One creates not for money, but to express whatever. I give my music mindlessly, not that I'm unconscious, but that I care not about monetary compensation. If you enjoy what I've created, great! The reward to me is in the creation of the work, not the money.
Thank you for finding me and my work.
David
