Musical score by Ira Newborn.
"You're going the wrong way. How would he know where we're going?"
"You can start by wiping that fucking dumb-ass smile off your rosey, fucking, cheeks! And you can give me a fucking automobile: a fucking Datsun, a fucking Toyota, a fucking Mustang, a fucking Buick! Four fucking wheels and a seat!"

SYNOPSIS
Two days before Thanksgiving, marketing consultant Neal Page races to catch a plane home to Chicago, only to find that his flight has been delayed. Hours later, he boards the plane and ends up next to obnoxious salesman, Del Griffith. When the flight is detoured to Wichita, the mismatched pair are forced to find their own way to Chicago-by any means necessary.

THE SOUNDTRACK
The soundtrack to Planes, Trains and Automobiles features a mix of rock and roll, country and pop.
It's hard to believe it's now 30 years old!
The frenetic musical score by Ira Newborn makes extensive use of the folk song "Red River Valley", including a rock and roll version of the song "Red River Rock", performed by British group Silicon Teens.
Among other tracks is a cover version of "Back in Baby's Arms", used during the scene when Steve Martin's and John Candy's characters wake up embracing each other in the morning. The song, popularized by Patsy Cline, is performed by Emmylou Harris.
Included in this "complete" version is a "cleaned up" version of Blue Room's
Everytime You Go Away, with the lead sung by Linda Hall (originally written by John Hall of Hall & Oates).
P.S. I've corrected an erroneous error and credited Linda Hall for beautiful vocal rendition.
And of course who could forget John Candy singing "Meet The Flintstones".
As a bonus, I've included the infamous "Welcome To Marathon" routine by Steve Martin and Edie McClurg.
I hope you like it.
