Now first let me say, I think that the idea of turning one of the current FF games into a movie is a BAD idea. I think they would butcher an already excellent story. Thats just my opinion. But just for the sake of fun, if Square were to turn one of the FF's into a movie, which one would it be and who would you cast for the different roles? (Remember, this isnt 'whats your fave FF?', its what would make the best movie).

Personally I think FF6 would work well. Here's my cast.

Terra: Franka Potente (Lola in Run Lola Run) or Milla Jovovich (Lulu in The Fifth Element)
Locke: Guy Pearce (Lenny in Memento)
Edgar: Ethan Hawke (Vincent in Gattaca)
Sabin: Dolph Lundgren (Ivan Drago in Rocky IV)
Shadow: Anyone with his height/build pretty much
Celes: A skinnier Kate Winslet (Rose in Titanic)
Cyan: Dunno... :\
Gau: Also dunno.
Setzer: Brad Pitt (Duh..)
Relm: Kirsten Dunst circa 1992 (like how she looked in Interview With A Vampire)
Strago: Dunno
Kefka: I cant think of anyone who could do his laugh :\

I think any FF would be a good movie. They all have such developed plot lines. The only problem is that a movie has to be around 2 hours, and given the story of Final Fantasy, it's going to be hard to fit everything in. They will probably have to have 3 sequels, just for FFVI. Think about it. There's the World of Ruins, and you also have to look for the missing characters. The opera house scene itself will take half and hour because it's quite significant. And think of the time fight scenes will take.

I could totally see a skinnier Kate Winslet with blonde hair playing Celes. She's an awesome actress.

And yeah I agree, thats why I dont think they should ever make any of em into a movie.

Oh 6 definitely. I would totally want to see how they transform 16 bit models into a real life FMV. It'd be awesome.

Well considering they didn't do so hot with the actualy movie released it couldn't have hurt to have made one of the games into a movie.

I would say 7 would have made a good movie. Far as casting goes all I can say is

Mr. T = Barret (or whatever his name was)

I could see him saying I PITY THE FOOL WHO MESS WITH AVALANCE!

But I seen a official statement from Square USA and they already said due to the lost in money on the movie they won't be making any more movies.

If they had went into more details on the story line I think it would have been alot better myself. I still never did understand HOW those things was supposed to help (as didn't many people I have talked to).

Its true, Square said they won't make any more movies. Which they wouldn't have this problem if they didn't screw up the first one so bad. They should of used real people, made it fantasy, had some summons and oh baby. Itd be good.

FFVII would be a great movie!
I'd love to see those weapons come out on the theater screen.
And of course Sephiroth....

I think FFVI would make a great movie, with great special effects and a better story line then FF:TSW :)
Also the cast Atom said might do the job, some are really good to play FFVI characters.

I think the animated chairactors was cool, but the story line just didn't go with a Final Fantasy theme. It was more like a Futuristic Sci Fi movie I thought.

Final Fantasy 8 would probably make the best movie. I was the msot cinematic of the series, and not too much happened. It had few enough big events to where you could fit the whole thing into two hours.
FF6, however, would make a horrible movie. It had too many important scenes to cram into such a short time, and it had so many subquest and battles that it just wouldn't feel complete if it were anything but a video game. Plus the artistic style is something you can't capture on screen, especially since the pixelation actually helped it.

I agree with atom about FF6, but he never said normal movie limitations. I think they should make a 60 hour movie with intermissions and sleep breaks.:D I also agree with his cast, except I can think of someone for Cyan: Sean Connery, but he would have to beef up :p Ah well, one can only dream.

I would like to see FFX since to see some great looking summons, hot chicks :cool: , blitzball and fighting fighting fighting :D :D :D

I'd like to see 6 as a 10 movie series, sean connery as cyan would be great. And I think that Anthony Hopkins would make a great kefka, he played a madman in Titus, and I love that movie, anyone that hasn't seen it should go to blockbuster and rent it right now.

zidane=mabey could have been elijah wood when he was a little bit younger.

I would think that FF8 or FF10 would make a good movie. They have good storylines. I'd like to see FF9 also, but it has smaller characters. But I'm sure something could be worked out!
