Anyone have some tips for the Half Life 2 SDK tools?

I`ve been trying to get to grips with them but i can`t figure out the basics. Anyone ever use them?, because i`m very interested in making my own HL2 mod.

Any tips or even links would be helpful

oh is that wwhat that is. i thought it was like steams own version of an adminmod or amx mod just with maybe easier to use interface and commands. basically tools to make your server with all the bells and whistles.

i guess i was wrong. but that’s awesome what it really was made to do. man i wouldn’t know where to begin. O_o just thinking about having to make tons of maps, skins for models, guns, where to place guns on maps, tiling the textures on the map, placement of objects..jeez. no thanks. i’d rather play. O_o

the farthest i’d go is making a custom map for an already existing mod. but making a mod entirely, WHOA. what are you looking to make. theres a lot already out there that pretty much have evreything. my new fav is the specialist mod. it combines the matrix and other famous movies/games for a real badass combo. its got the slowmo thing and everything. very beautifuly done.

oh wait. my mistake. the specialist is a hl1 mod. :p now i see why you’d like to take on the project. i definately think there are very few hl2 mods out there. i hope you come up with something awesome so i can enjoy your work. good luck. i wish i could help but i’m a blind mute in that area. peace.
