Hey 😀

I’ve been playing guitar for 5 years, and I plan to start learning violin next year. I just wondered if anyone could forewarn me of any bad habits i might carry over from my years on the fretboard. I’m supposing my teacher will cover most of those, but i just wanted a heads up if anyone can offer it. thanks!

I played violin for some years and I took a little guitar in elementary. In my opinion I really don’t think there are any bad habits you would transfer from the guitar to violin. Violin is basically like guitar only smaller and with a bow. Of course string instruments are harder to play because you have to move your fingers. No offense to band instruments.

Why are you going to play violin? Those things make the worst music, trust me you should just spend all the time you were thinking on playing violin and instead practice more with a gutair.

Well, I’m not saying i don’t trust you, but i will have to disagree as far as how a violin sounds. I really like the sound of em, as long as they’re in good hands. I’ve played guitar enough that, while i’m still in love with it, i’m ready for something new. anyhow, thanks for the input XD
