Anime similar to Final Fantasy VIII?

that’s the kind of thing i’m looking for. and no, i don’t mean romance anime.

the closest i’ve found so far are Noein and Full Metal Alchemist.

I haven’t seen anything similar to FFVIII anime or otherwise. However Akira shares a similar cyberpunk feel and setting as FFVII, but it’s not FFVIII 🙁

I can’t imagine why you would want to watch an anime similar to a game that you probably completed over a hundred times. By all means, the d�ja vu feeling would be huge, plus it’d most likely feel like all the characters got raped and horribly mutated into something else.

I completely and totally understand the OP’s wants and desires in wanting a series vaguely similar to a video game that covers a broad spectrum of genre.
