Amarant and Eiko

OK, I HAVE NOT just noticed this, but don’t you think that there surnames are a bit too similar?
Also, they don’t like each other, but in the brother and sister way.

Or do you you think i’m talking out of my arse?

I suppose it IS a possibility, though I’ve got to say I don’t see the physical resemblance. One of my favorite things about the Final Fantasy universe has always been the strange little unanswered questions that seem to pop up now and then. I suppose the closest thing to an answer you’ll probabally get on that score lies in the fan fiction universe, as any sort of secret extra scenes would be common knowledge by now.

its an interesting idea, but i doubt it. wasnt Eiko the last of her race or something? i forget, FF9 passed me by in a daze, it was that short.

but yeah, like Terra said, the producers just throw in bits here and there, to make players go "aha!"

It’s an interesting possibility, but I doubt it. For one thing, Eiko’s a summoner and there really isn’t any more left besides Garnet. Besides, they don’t really look alike IMO. Though you’re right, they argue in the brother/sister way.

I suppose it’s fairly interesting but I seriously doubt they are related as they don’t really look alike and I don’t think it’s sibling rivalry (sp) which comes into play when they get into fights with each other but just the fact that they get on each other’s nerves easily. Yeah, enough said… :B

It’d be interesting if they were related…but NO, they’re not.
as most of you said…there’s no resemblance in the physical form and not to tell that Eiko and Garnet are the last of they’re tribe…..

I see that Armarant and Eiko have the same last names and argue like brother and sister but it could be like a situation where let’s say a party of eight are together and two characters have the same last name…Like Hughes for example, yet the two are not related in any way, yet thier differences cause them to constantly argue with each other. This could be the case in this situation, yet Squresoft seems always intent on confusing their fans by putting small twists in thier games to make the gamers think and discuss these little quircks.

Nope, they aren’t brother or sister, definitely, and they don’t have the same last name: Eiko’s is Carol and Amarant’s is Coral. Although I must admit those two surnames are pretty similar. I don’t really think they argue in the brother-sister way, since I doubt that Amarant would have the patience to argue with Eiko anyway. But then I think that deep down he feels some affection for Eiko, as with the rest of the crew. I noticed he hardly interacts with Vivi or Dagger, though…
