After beating Yunalesca, I’m stuck.

Hi there.

I’d like to ask you guys if you know/experienced a situation like this before. After I’ve defeated Yunalesca and exited the dome, nothing happens. I can’t re-enter the dome, and nothing else happens. I’m officially stuck. What’s supposed to happen (after reading guides) is that Sin is to appear and I am supposed to be on the airship. That didn’t happen though… So…

I’ve come across many conclusions:

I’m playing a copied-version: But, I got the game from an EB store so it can’t have been a fake. Or,

The scratches (they were already there when I bought the game, I’ve been looking for months so I bought it anyways despite the condition) could have turned off some switches that allowed the game to continue… not sure if that’s possible though.

Or, I didn’t actually get the sun crest right after i defeated Yunalesca (I left the room, then came back in after the cutscene). Or,

I saved the game, then quit after i defeated her before leaving the dome. That could be a possibility as well.

Um, has anyone experienced this before? Or better yet, does anyone know a solution to this?

Thanks alot!

P.S. My PS2 is legit too, I bought it a few months ago just so I can play this game. Yes, it took me months to find the game in stores.

As far as I know EB Games won’t even take copied games in as trade ins (Although that does depend on which clerk was there for the transaction) much less sell them as second hand. Personally, I’d hazard the guess that whatever means was used to copy the game was thorough in the process.

I’d suggest checking Ebay for a copy or go around to your local game stores in the hope of getting a proper copy.

Hmm, okay I should do that then. Thanks~

I don’t think EB can legally sell you a burnt copy seeing as it is illegal to own one without the original copy…

There’s no way it was a burnt game, unless the person who took it was a total moron.

I’d say your best bet is to mod your PS2 and just DL a back-up.

Or, I guess you could turn it back in and tell them.

The print on the disc doesn’t seem like a fake to me, or maybe someone was just too good at it. Anyways, even if it was a copied version, my PS2 wouldn’t have been able to play it, would it?

I think it’s probably the scratches then… I was too desperate and bought it like that hehe. It was quite cheap though, so I took the chances. Now I have to borrow a friends’ 😛 Hopefully I don’t have to start over… Although I would have anyway heheh.

Okay, so my friend suggested that I should clean my disc with my glasses cleaner… And it actually worked! Hooray hehehe. Unfortunately I found out that I missed out on Zanarkand temple’s treasure so I can’t get Anima now…. Oh well, next play hehehe. I’ll read temple guides next time.

What are you talking about? Zanarkand’s treasure isn’t permanently missable. In fact, IIRC it’s not even possible to get it on your first visit there. Just return to the temple. None of the temple Destruction Sphere treasures are permanently missable. If you missed anything the first time around, you just go back to the temple. I mean, unless you’re being blocked by a dark aeon or something? (Which is only if you have International version.)

Oh really? Yes! I thought that once I activated the elavator in Zanarkand, then i won’t be able to step on the coloured tiles again. Hooray! Thanks.

Oh, and I was trying to tame monsters at mushroom rock when i got delta attacked with 99999 damage (like 5 times in a row or something) by the dark magus sisters…

Nah, the colored tiles actually return for a brand new puzzle once you return to Zanarkand. It’s like I said, it’s actually not possible to get the Destruction treasure the first time that you’re there.

And I guess that answers the question about whether or not you’re playing International. Don’t think it should be a problem though unless you missed one of the other destruction treasures. And you already got the Sun Crest, so you don’t have to worry about defeating a dark aeon to get that.
