Tori Amos – Abnormally Attracted To Sin

Okay so I may argue the fact that this is another of the same dishing for more of the same Tori fanatics out there, but seeing her signed to a new label (Universal) has obviously given her somewhat of a different sound.

Yes she still comes across as kinda preachy and still maintains her sort of "Holier than thou" image but at the same time this album is a lot darker than the usual serve of the average Tori Amos fix.

When you peel each song layer by layer you discover something much more secretive and knowlegable. I recommend this album to anyone who feels that there must be a way out to the daily grind or there must be something other than the life or cards we are dealt.

Definitely an album to stick with you and make you ponder the false pretenses you have no choice but to be given.

The album is over 75 minutes long so bring some alcohol or pot for this journey, especially for the self explanatory track titled Mary Jane regarding a boy who asks his mum if he can smoke pot during the weekend whilst she isn’t there.

Obviously Led Zeppelin continues to influence Tori in a very dark and unforgiving journey of rhythm and piano riffs that will linger long after your journey is complete.

I give this symmetrical submerging seven purrrs out of ten <3

Memorable tracks: Flavour, Not Dying Today, Curtain Call, Police Me, Mary Jane, Fast Horse, Ophelia

Didn’t she do the Zep song "Down by the seaside" with Robert Plant? Cant remember if it was her or another dame.

Yeah she did. She’s always been a Led Zep fan since she was young.
