not really film score, but definitely "music from and inspired" type deal.

I’d like to see a compilation of classical/opera music used in film.
Not like the "epic choral/orchestra" thread out there already.

but, instead of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011)’ own "To The Opera!"…

How about the three pieces used for the film.
L’Ultima Prova / Ah, Signor Per Carita / Don Giovanni a Cenar Teco from Mozart’s "Don Giovanni".

Instead of the film version for Quantum of Solace (2008), how about the album version (if the exact or even close to year/studio) of Puccini’s "Tosca".
Te Deum plus another cue from an earlier act was used in the last half of the Tosca scene (stage scene from act 2; silent shootout from act 1).

True Romance (1993)?
pretty much already on the album OST.
"Sous le dme pais o le blanc jasmin" Delibes’s "Lakm"

So on and so forth.

I’d like to get a nice collaberation going to make a full album experience of Opera in Cinema, since I’ve not really seen one (or one that’s updated with Sherlock Holmes, 007, etc).

There was even more of Mozart’s "Don Giovanni" used in Copycat (1995): Vissi D’Arte.
 Even Rossini’s "Largo al factotum" was used (of which I can always associate with Warner Bro’s Looney Tunes).

Anyone with me on this?
No set time (72min album for 1CD or 80min for fancy CD’s), unless we gain enough interest to create something uber fancy like a 2CD deluxe album.

Anyone? :erm:
Just me? 🙁 fine.

!!! "So on and so forth."
Gary Oldman! The Fifth Element: Mad scene "Il dolce suono" from Donizetti’s "Lucia di Lammermoor"
That would be tricky: Do we add the OST version? Do we cut off the first part and leave out the Diva Dance or do concatenate into one seamless track?
Or do we through the TFE version (concatenated) as a bonus track and throw in any version recording of the actual opera in an earlier track?

I remember there was a song that played in the film ‘Lucy’ that was orchestral, and kind’ve reminded me of what you’re talking about. It’s when she goes to find Mr. Wang and interrogate him about something, don’t want to spoil the film or any specific details.

Also, I think The Amazing Spider-man 2 could count as well, during the scene where ‘The Blue Danube Waltz’ was playing while that mad scientist was performing ‘experiments’ on Electro. That music was pretty awesome for that scene, it was really cool for me.

Looking at IMDb list for soundtracks for Lucy.

I can immediately recognize: K.626 ‘Requiem’: Introitus: ‘Requiem Aeternam’.
My favorite of Mozart’s work.

Requiem was used numerous times throughout film: My favorite use is in Elizabeth (1998).

I’ve not finished the film, so I’ll have to rewatch it again to get to that point. It should be easy to pin-point (given the printed credits and what IMDb lists).

The Blue Danube Watlz is easy to find, but I’ll have to cross-check end credits to try pin point version used in film.
If it was remixed/re-composed by Zimmer and Co (Sinister Six) specifically for that scene in the film, we’ll have to settle with any version we can find from a most-favored studio album of the opera from Johann Baptist Strauss.

Tha movie I don’t remember to that detail. Electro’s theme is overpowering.

I am going to upload, in 24-bit, the source cue from Lucy’s soundtrack.

Dubstep was ‘kind’ve’ crossed over with The Blue Danube Waltz, it was really an interesting scene. Here’s a YouTube link to the scene. Poor quality, but it will give you an idea, it wasn’t very memorable for some people, but I hope it will be in the sessions..

Oh, I got the 24bit HDTracks OST of Lucy, if it’s on there, then I’ll just use that then.
That’ll narrow things down.

I’ll give it another look over tonight/tomorrow.

TAS2, I know that scene now.
I got a remux so I’ll give that a watch too and see where things are at.
