What, so Family Guy, which has ripped off practically every Simpsons episode ever made in some way, as well as at least one of its characters, is way better? Are you sure?

Family Guy is really just a poor man’s Simpsons.

Personally, I prefer American Dad to both. At least it’s genuinely original. The Simpsons after series 9 or so has just been regurgitating old stories with inferior humour to what it had before.

Family is much funnier than any simpsons episode ever made. I don’t care if some ideas were taken from simpsons, I want to be entertained and Family pulls off jokes 100x better than simpsons does.

The humour in Family Guy is far too repetitive and low-brow. It usually either resorts to physical comedy or insults, which is pretty funny for the first five minutes, but makes you want to jump off a cliff thereafter.

the oldr simpsons were better than the newed ones,

family guy, although i love it, really has sunk in quality. the 1st-3rd seasons were the best, where many of the jokes were clever and were original. now, they seem to just cash on in the same formula; peter says something, flashback, lois says something, stewie either says something about killing lois, or he says something about him being homosexual, which is becoming more common in the newer episodes.

Apart from the fact that both were made by Seth McFarlane’s team, I don’t see many similarities between the two. The characters are completely different to those in Family Guy. The type of humour is also different and something I can relate to a lot more than in Family Guy.

That’s not to say that they’ve never been done before in any show ever, obviously, but they haven’t been exaggerated to such an hilarious extent, and haven’t been done in any animated comedies that I’ve seen.

the main reason family guy has gone to shit is cause they keep making very similar jokes nearly every episode.

its hard to explain in text but you know the jokes where they just repeat the same action over again where its not funny then after a while it funny again cause they’re doing it so long. family guy’s over-reliance on these kind of jokes to take up time is annoying to say the least

I think the South Park episode about Family Guy jokes and how the show is probably written says it the best.

I despise Smallville though it became funny how bad the show was to me after a while, for example nothing ever has any consequences!! Also how much bloody amnesia did the writers think they had to use! It’s sad that shows like Smallville last forever and a great show like Firefly gets cut short!! Its madness I tell you! Madness!

Since I haven’t watched TV in about a year that’s all I got off the top of my head.

The Big Bang Theory is pretty awful, although the other day I laughed at something in it. Other than that ITV news is atrocious and all those property shows BBC insists on flooding its schedule with.

I don’t really watch TV anymore. I turn on the science channel or discovery channel when I eat lunch, but that’s about it. Sometimes the military channel or history channel. Well, that and Doctor Who, but I usually watch that on my PC anyway.
My younger sister watches so much garbage on MTV and VH1 I don’t understand how her brain rationalizes anything anymore. Even a lot of shows on those channels I watch aren’t all that good. Some are very…informative, but I never trust something until I see it with my own two eyes.
As for specific bad shows…ah yes, pretty much any reality tv show unless it involves Chef Gordon Ramsey (or is more of a documentary, ala Deadliest Catch). I enjoy that guy’s brutality so much….I have no idea why.
I finally saw the first season of Heroes…I have to say it was pretty good for the most part. At least in the first season. They fumbled the ending a bit and the second season was botched.
I also usually enjoy House, though I do admit his routine can get old.

I really loved the first season of Heroes… but the second season moved way too slow and the third way too fast… It’s trying to hard to please everyone.
Seinfeld can range from really funny to really dumb – it really depends on what episode you’re watching.
I never think "This sucks" when watching Disney channel because I never watch Disney channel… Everything on there is so past horrible I would probably break my television if it was the only thing on.
Unfortunately, however, I can’t really think of any TV shows that downright suck besides Disney, but I do echo the call for the end of reality shows.
