FF9 had a good ending if you sat through the whole thing (dang 30 minute ending)
No, I think FF9 was one of my greatest gaming experiences ever. I expected nothing at all, sceptic because of the character design, but I loved every second of the game, I loved the characters, I think the game was beautiful… It had so many surprises. Heh, I did not expect anything, not even the mere existence of a worthy opponent, and then I got such a GREAT person like Kuja! it was too good to be true!
Yeah!
I’ve always gone back to play through the game once more after I’ve completed it. I played through Final Fantasy VII countless times to get all of the ultimate limits, summons and weapons on each character (including Aeris.) Final Fantasy VIII I went through three times, collecting all of the GFs and getting all characters limit breaks, and trying to get as many cards as possible.
With Final Fantasy IX, I just don’t have the motivation to get back into the game. I’m near the end of the first disk (have just obtained Quina.) That was around four months ago…
For that reason alone, I stand by Final Fantasy VII as the better game of the three.
FF8 had the best ending for me, FF7 gave me the best pleasure but yes FFIX melted my heart at those clever word sequences at the end, they were more emotional than any of the end clips for me
Bahumut same goes for me, FF7 was what got me into RPGs, i love it and completed it at least 7 times through.
FF8 i would say is a great game, good story and i love the end, but i only went through it once, i tried going through it a second time but no motivation to get past the prison cell.
FF9 has a strong story, i love zidanes character, but i find that ff9 is just story, the limit method is poor, and replay value not so good. I only completed the game once and didnt do any sub-quests, beating the hard boss (alternative for omega i forget his name) whereas ff8 and 7 i did everything
FF7 – 9 and a half/10
FF8 – 9/10
FF9 – 8/10
