=========================================

Welcome one, welcome all, to my thread consisting primarily of lossless VGM downloads.

IMPORTANT ~ READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING

Lossless audio comes in many formats; FLAC, APE, WV, TTA (and more I may not know of). Thus, here’s some help in playing these files if you have no idea whatsoever.

First, get foobar2000 (one of, if not THE best audio players available) right here (http://www.foobar2000.org/foobar2000_0.9.4.5.exe).

FLAC: Plays natively in foobar2000. You can get the FLAC encoder/decoder here (http://downloads.sourceforge.net/flac/flac-1.2.1b.exe).

APE: install this (http://foobar2000.com/components/foo_input_monkey.zip) plugin for foobar2000.

TTA: install this (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/tta/ttaplugin-foobar-2.4.2.zip?download) plugin for foobar2000.

WV: Plays natively in Foobar2000.

Please note, that some of the uploads here are actually single audio files, which you can play as separate tracks by dragging and dropping their respective cuesheet in foobar2000.

=========================================

The way this thread currently works is as such: the download links lead to the post where the download links were initially posted. You then click the links from there.

Pretty much all of the OST’s are currently hosted on Filefactory, and are anonymized in the hopes of extending file life.

Please notify me IMMEDIATELY when links die, so that I (or one of the infinitely kind contributors) can go about reuploading the said OST’s.

=========================================

DC++ ‘DIRECT CONNECT’

In addition to downloading any OST’s that appear on this page, I immensely recommend that what you do is download the P2P program ‘DC++’. It’s how I attain the OST’s I do, aside from torrent. It is very easy to use, and is incredibly convenient. It is slot operated, as in, the users set a certain amount of slots by which other users may download from them; if all those slots are currently in use, you must wait until one frees in order to download, or you may PM the respective user and request very nicely that he grant you a download slot.

Download ‘DC++’ here (http://optusnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/dcplusplus/DCPlusPlus-0.699.exe)

Here’s a visual step by step picture tutorial to DC++ in 8 basic, easy steps for anyone interested in getting stuff from where I get stuff >> http://www.mediafire.com/?33ihdghad1z

Follow the steps carefully, and you’ll be able to access ‘VGM Central’, comprised of many lossless VGM enthusiasts. One user in particular, ‘Ultracain’, has almost all Final Fantasy related OST’s in lossless formats.

UNBELIEVABLE! Only one night and my upload’s gone! O_O

I’m sorry my friend! Mediafire it is, then. How bloody dare they. I apologize, but you’ll have to wait another night for disc one. It’ll be here though, so check back tomorrow.

DAMN megaupload xD

All OST’s are ripped to WAV via EAC, using secure mode and accurate stream. The WAV files are then compressed into FLAC (level 8 compression). They are all untagged; I figured I’d leave that up to you.

Great idea. I have a question, though. Do you include the .cue sheet for each CD? This can be created when ripping the CD in EAC, and allows the original CD to be recreated. Very handy. 🙂 I posted a bit more about this here (http://forums.ffshrine.org/showpost.php?p=898177&postcount=36).

Ahhh no, there are no cue sheets. I download them from other people via P2P, you see, and cue sheets aren’t always included. What’s the difference in burning with a cue sheet and not doing so? ^^ You’ve said it allows the original CD to be recreated, but if you’re interested primarily in lossless quality, doesn’t burning them with OR without a cue sheet yield an identical audio experience?

A cuesheet allows the recreation to be "mathematically correct". But the purists that care for that will probably think the FLAC encodes are useless anyway when there aren’t any .log files with it that state the the files are *truly* lossless. Since oh boy oh boy, what if one byte is missing? It’s the end of the world. People won’t notice it from listening, but they still care.

Personally, I don’t give a damn. I just wanna listen to lossless music. Should I want to backup this, I’d do it digitally.

Anyway, I’ll be waiting for these uploads. These 3 OSTs should sound great in lossless quality. So thanks in advance! ^^

Well, apart from the Valkyrie Profile & Star Ocean 2, I’ll do my best to make sure that any further OST’s will have their cue and log intact. I will state which OST’s do have these and which don’t when I edit the post tomorrow. However, being abit of a purist myself, and having had the log files at one point (which I deleted due to the fact I didn’t think I needed them), I can honestly say the track qualities were 100% perfect according to the logs. Try to trust me regarding Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean. If that’s not enough, I apologize for tainting these two OST’s. In my own time I’ll painstakingly relocate them, re-download them, and upload them as they are, logs and all (that’s if I can find the damn things again).

If you’re only interested in listening to the tracks, then no, the CUE sheets are unimportant. If you’re interested in backing up your CDs in addition to listening to them, or recovering/recreating CDs that you had previously bought but have been stolen or damaged, then CUE sheets are extremely helpful. As you suggested, it pretty much depends on your goals.

Thanks for answering my question, though. 🙂

Edit:

Oh, and the difference between burning a disc with and without a CUE sheet is that the CUE sheet allows the original CD structure to be recreated. So, for example, if I rip a CD, create a CUE sheet, then burn it with that CUE sheet, I can pop that burned CD in any CD-ROM drive and CDDB, etc. will recognize it just as if it were the original. Simply burning back the FLACs/WAVs/etc. without a CUE sheet results in a "new" disc that is unknown. Again, it all depends on your preferences and goals.

I see! ^^ I had not previously known this was the case =) From now on I’ll keep an eye out for cue sheets just for the sake of it, although I don’t personally mind if my CD isn’t a perfect recreation. I personally am only interested in the log files, but for the sake of other peoples goals, I’ll try my best to find versions with both logs and cues.

Speaking of log files; for every CD I upload, I’ll upload the log and cue files separately, so that you can download and check them out BEFORE you download the actual OST’s, to see if they’re accurate enough for you. How’s that? Considering I don’t rip these OST’s myself, I can’t do much if there isn’t a cue accompanying the OST, BUT I’ll only settle for uploading logless/cueless versions if they’re all I can find after extensive searching.

That will be cool if you can add the dead rising OST.

I’ll see if I can find that for you ^^ I’ll notify you if I succeed, but remember; my upload speed is terribly slow, so it takes several hours to upload lossless material, and I can’t be here all day =) Remember patience my friends xD

That won’t really work… If the log files contain errors, then obviously something went wrong. But even if the log files states everything is OK, something could’ve gone wrong. To check that, you need to convert the FLAC back into WAV, and compare the CRC32 checksum (looks like this 2879C8E8) with the one in the logfile. So people are gonna have to download the FLAC anyway, since nobody would upload a log file with errors.

I see ^^ Scrap the previous then. Thank all of you for informing me as you have =) I’ll extensively check them to see if they’re all perfect then ^^

Note; I’m having alot of upload trouble today. Things haven’t been going well. Valkyrie Profile I’ve split into four 100 mb pieces, and I got the first two up last night. The third one isn’t going so well, because Mediafire’s been strange all day long. I simply cannot help this. On top of that, my internet connection has been going out quite frequently. This again I cannot help. I ask you all be patient until I can get these files up. It’s out of my control, though.

Also; my friends are coming tonight so I’m unable to tend to uploads, but I’ll see what I can do.

I apologize things haven’t gone as smoothly as I’d hoped with this. It’s pretty pathetic to have a thread up claiming lossless downloads, and then not actually having any available xD I should’ve started this thread once I actually had some OST’s up already, but I suppose it’s better to let people know what I’m going to have here, ne? Please have patience, and things will start going smoothly soon enough.

How do I do check the wav checksums, precisely? I tried this; decompress the FLAC, then mount the cue to a virtual drive, open EAC, and all the audio tracks appear. Then I test all the tracks, and their CRC32 appears after testing. Then I’d compare them with the CRC32 checksums in the log file. Is this how I check wavs checksums? Or is there a simpler way about it?

Isn’t there only one checksum in the log file? Well, there should be if it’s a single WAV (and the cuesheet acts as an index to that WAV). If so, you only need to find the checksum of the WAV and compare it to the one in the log file. For seperate files an SFV generator like hkSFV (http://www.download.com/HkSFV/3000-2248_4-10157350.html)(freeware) is recommended since it can quickly generate a list of checksums of selected files. If you want to check seperate files manually you can use CheckCRC (http://www34.brinkster.com/dizzyk/download/CheckCRC.zip) (also free). But mounting the cuesheet shouldn’t be necessary.

What I’m trying to check is Final Fantasy IX Piano Collections. As I downloaded it, it came with a log, cue, and separated FLAC files. The log has stated them all to be separate as well. I’ve encountered single wav files with cues, but I usually mount the cue, then rip the tracks back as separate tracks for listening and so on.

However, I’ve decompressed the Final Fantasy IX Piano Collections files back to wav. Then I checked their CRC’s with checkCRC, and they are completely different from those in the log file. So, I guess there’s been some errors along the way huh? I then tried to rip a random music cd of mine, just to test. I ripped the wav directly to my desktop, saved the log, then checked the wav’s CRC with checkCRC, and strangely enough, the CRC generated by checkCRC was entirely different from the freshly created log file. This doesn’t make sense to me. Why, if I had JUST ripped a clean, untouched wav, does it register a different CRC than the log file?

Also, I still need help with the difficulty I’ve posted above xD

News; tomorrow I should be upgrading my internet connection, so hopefully I’ll be able to upload everything at about 300 kb per second, which will be grand. The time it takes for the ISP to upgrade my connection will probably be two or three days from tomorrow, so I’ll hold on the uploads till my connections been upgraded, and then I’ll slap those OST’s down all at once if possible.

FileFactory has deleted a bunch of my files before. No host is really safe anymore. I’m not really sure how they pick the files they delete. Maybe they keep track of the referrer (so using a service like http://anonym.to might help). Or maybe there was just an evil user that reported the files. Using arbitrary file names might also help. Some files get deleted in a week, others stay forever.

I can re-upload the FFIX Piano Collections later if you want.

Hmmm…this is particularly difficult. Over in NZ, you can’t afford to download or upload forever. They charge you big for exceeding your limits. It’s really hard when you’re uploading at your own expense, and can’t even trust that your files won’t be knocked out O_O

I’d like to think someone wasn’t reporting my files, but anyone’s able to I guess. I tried an arbitrary sort of file name for the Piano Collections OST; ”ffix-pc” but that also went right down the drain along with the rest of them. I’m unsure of what do right now O_o It wouldn’t really be an issue if I didn’t have to fork out ten dollars for every extra five GB I used over my limit.

Given the immediacy in which my files have been deleted, both from Megaupload and now Mediafire, I’m inclined to believe someone’s being a snitch. Though, the ‘keeping an eye on the referrer’ idea is also entirely feasible. We are a community of illegitimate downloads, after all. It’s a good way to deter people with my connection type, for sure.

If you upload that Piano Collections OST, that’d be fantastic. It’d help out ^^

Ah well, you can count on me to re-upload your stuff when it gets deleted. My upload speed is about 800 KByte/sec (no file hosting service seems to allow me to upload with that speed, but it’s still pretty fast) and I don’t have any bandwidth limits. So it’s not really a problem for me. I’ll upload the piano collections when I get home.

I don’t like massmirror, personally. You need to keep your files under 100 MB otherwise some of the hosts will refuse them, and if you lose the links you lose the files. I like to have an account where I can organize all my files in folders. But I guess it is the best site to use when you have bandwidth limits.

Yeah, I just recently changed my sig because MediaFire unfortunately hates us too! It removed my downloads on several different sites. 🙁 I’m not sure why this is because we’re exchanging non-mainstream music that would be difficult or even impossible to own since it’s not sold outside of its country. Well anyway it seems that I’ll have to continue my search for a reliable file hosting site, I will take Sarah’s advice and try out MassMirror though.

With all of that aside I’d like to say that this is the thread for me. 😀 I thought about starting a thread like this awhile ago but it seems that you beat me to it. I love lossless video game music and I sometimes go out of my way to get it.

Give me some time and I might be able to contribute quite a bit to this thread. I’ve got most everything that fast_eddie posted in his thread before MegaButtload removed the contents and fast_eddie suddenly disappeared. If you’re wondering what I’m talking about it’s a bunch of Final Fantasy music in FLAC lossless.

Let’s try to keep this thread alive unlike that last one. 😀

Alright Sarah, I’ll try massmirror ^^ Anything that might remotely aid me in this age of horrors xD

Welcome Cyberspark ^^ It’s good to see you here. I knew you’d pop up eventually, as I’ve seen you around and about requesting lossless downloads ^^ If you’re able to upload any of that stuff, that’d be fantastic. I’m able to get the Final Fantasy 7 and 8 OST’s in lossless. Do you have those?

And Axersia, if mirroring my OST’s really isn’t a problem, I thank you dearly for offering ^^ It’ll really help this thread out. It’s a decent plan. I upload the rare stuff, you become the reliable mirror (at your own discretion of course). There’s no weight of expectancy on you, so mirror as you please, when you please ^^

We’ll keep this thread aliiiiive.

EDIT: Another thing about my connection; I’m unable to download from P2P sharing programs during certain hours, namely, when the network is congested. I can try to start them up, but they won’t connect or anything. I can only typically download from P2P either overnight, or from the early morning hours up until four in the afternoon. Anything outside that, and I’m restricted to direct http downloads. Just another foul disadvantage of New Zealand’s stone age internet. Due to the fact I find all my lossless OST’s via P2P, the OST’s won’t come as fast as I’d like, but they come fast enough. Remember, patience ^^ I’m doing the best I can despite this garbage ^^

Ahh, that’s alright =) I just wanted to know so I can let people know if it does or not in the main post beside the download link ^^

Most, if not all, of the stuff I’m uploading has no log or cue either. I can generate a ‘false’ log which will give me the track qualities just to see what they are, but it wouldn’t be ‘official’. Piano Collections Final Fantasy VII (http://www.filefactory.com/file/934a01/)

I got this awhile ago from a torrent and the log, cue sheet and booklets are all included. Hope you all enjoy this one too. 😎

Thank you again! =) You’re so cool man! ^^

It’s fantastic to have contributors like you and Axersia, who’re interested in lossless music and who take it seriously. I consider you guys co-owners of this thread ^^ Thanks alot dude =)

Mwahaah, currently uploading disc 1 of Castlevania – Lament Of Innocence. Shadow Of The Colossus to come after ^^

Co-owner? wow, thanks. 😎 Hey so how’s that Shadow Of The Colossus soundtrack? I haven’t been able to listen to it before. What other soundtrack might you compare it to?

Well anyway you did say at the beginning of this thread that we could make requests, so I’m going to request the impossible yet again:
Kingdom Hearts Original Soundtrack Complete Box (http://www.chudahs-corner.com/soundtracks/index.php?catalog=TOCT-26221%7E9) (9-disc set) in FLAC lossless. 😯 Well it was worth a try.

*Whistles* Pheeewww! 9 Discs! I’ll see if I can find that! If I do, it’ll probably take a good week or so to pull, and like with the Soul Calibur OST’s, I’ll keep you posted on them if I do find them ^^

Shadow Of The Colossus sounds like…hmmm, well, an epic movie soundtrack I guess. What I’ll do, is upload a track for you (my favorite) as mp3 so you can test it out ^^ I’ll do that a little later on, cause right now I’ve gotta go and do some household stuff ^^ I’ll edit this post with the link when I come back.

Shadow Of The Colossus OST now up ^^

Note to anyone who’s going to upload: If you’re going to upload an OST of your own will that isn’t a mirror of anything I’ve uploaded, make sure you’re prepared to ‘maintain’ it. As I’ve made known, I have download limits, and so I have to prioritize what I download and what I choose to upload/re-upload. The things I choose to upload/re-upload and download are predominantly my own OST’s, not the ones uploaded independently by others, although, if none of my OST’s are down, then I’ll happily back up collaborator OST’s. I just need to be careful about what I do with my limits.

I do expect that people uploading independently maintain their own OST’s in the primary sense (ie, re-uploading when their OST’s either expire or are removed), and then mine afterward IF THEY WANT. Also, the time will soon come where I need to slow down on my bandwidth consumption and wait for next month (when it renews itself and a new billing cycle starts). I’ll let you know when that is ^^

So is this gonna be the collective lossless VGM thread now? If so you can add my uploads too:

世界樹のおもちゃ箱 (Etrian Odyssey fan remix album) – IOSYS

CD2
http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/-1099653342/DISC2.zip
Gigasize is pretty slow. I’ll have to re-upload these again someday.

Odin Sphere OST – Basiscape (Hitoshi Sakimoto, Masaharu Iwata, Manabu Namiki, Mitsuhiro Kaneda, Kimihiro Abe)

2 – http://www.filefactory.com/file/2b30ed/
CD2

Atelier Iris 2 Azoth of Destiny ~Bonus Soundtrack~ – Ken Nakagawa, Daisuke Achiwa, Saitama Saishuu Heiki
1 – http://www.filefactory.com/file/3f68d2
2 – http://www.filefactory.com/file/db2371

Disgaea 2 Cursed Memories ~Best of Soundtrack~ – Tenpei Sato
1 – http://www.filefactory.com/file/c7cd28
2 – http://www.filefactory.com/file/f59a97

All in FLAC format. The latter 2 were actually ripped by myself, but I didn’t bother to make a cuesheet/log. The others also don’t contain any.

I’ll upload The Best of Grandia later. It was originally ripped and uploaded by teblad (http://forums.ffshrine.org/member.php?u=99097), but all her (mediafire) links died. She also uploaded a bunch some other lossless VGM, so hopefully she’ll re-upload them again someday.

Just wondering, should we add other people’s uploads too (or at least post links to their respective topics) so this can become the official lossless VGM index thread?

EDIT: Whoa, looks like filefactory finally added a download limit. I only downloaded the first part of Castlevania and have to wait a 100 minutes.

Nice! I can’t wait to get a hold of these soundtracks, especially those Soul Calibur OSTs! Hey you seem to be pretty good at finding lossless VGM soundtracks. Do you think that maybe you could find the lossless rip of this album?:

F-Zero Arranged

Here are some mp3s if you’ve never heard of it before, they’re Jazz remakes of the original F-Zero soundtrack:

Opening (http://208.53.158.138/soundtracks/f-zero-arranged/yndpnpklgx/01-opening.mp3)
Big Blue (http://208.53.158.138/soundtracks/f-zero-arranged/nsvejqoyos/02-big-blue.mp3)

Sand Ocean (http://208.53.158.138/soundtracks/f-zero-arranged/qqgxenumbh/10-sand-ocean.mp3) ()

There are 12 tracks in total. If you happen to come across this one as always…well you know what to do. 😀

I’m also interested in lossless Kingdom Hearts music. I know an ape+cue rip was released on torrent awhile ago, but I never got to download it, and now it’s pretty much dead. The 9 disc complete set is superior to the seperate OSTs since it contains unreleased tracks and longer loop times, but any OST will do.

Of course, there’s no rush. I don’t expect you to pay to download music. But I just wanted to let you know there are at least two people interested in it.

I might buy (and upload) the 9 disc boxset myself in the near future since I’m a huge KH fan and I’ve wanted to add it to my collection for a while now. It depends on how much money I get for my birthday next month.

Also, I’ll probably rip and upload the "Best of" OST from Persona 3 soon (whenever I feel like configuring EAC properly).

If at all possible, could someone upload a lossless (.flac, .aiff, .wav, or .m4a formats I can handle) Final Fantasy X: Piano Collections?

Do you mean that you have FFX Piano Collections or that you also wish for it? ^^

Soul Calibur comes with a log, some info file, and an MD5 file.

Soul Calibur 2 comes with log and cue.

Soul Calibur three comes with neither.

Sorry I meant to say that I wish to have this as well. I have other Final Fantasy X music but I’ll have to sift through it to see what exactly.

No need for apologies my good man ^^

I don’t necessarily get them from different sources. In the case of Soul Calibur, I’m getting them all from the one user; but, they may have in turn gotten them from different sources, or maybe not. I try to find versions with logs and cues, but it isn’t often the case, and I just take what I can get ^^

As for me, I have access to about 35 or so Final Fantasy FLAC OST’s, including those of pretty much all the main games (except FFIX), all the Piano Collections, the Vocal Collections, The Black Mages, and so on and so on. I have one question: Did you have any trouble decompressing the files with 7zip? I ask because whenever I try to decompress Chrono Symphonic part1 and part2 7zip tells me that the files are broken or corrupt. Are you having this same problem? I’ll re-upload if that’s the case.

I shall try to rip my only two cd:s (Best of Grandia and Klonoa 1 OST) into flac with cuesheets, but I haven’t figured out how to do that yet (I just recently realised what cuesheets were at all good for… :D) Also, I have a lossless rip of Castlevania SOTN I got from demonoid before it was shut down ( 🙁 ), and probably some more interesting stuff, like Howl’s moving castle OST and Spirited away OST in lossless (not game music, but I figure some people would want it).

EDIT: By the way, is filefactory any good? ‘Cause it’s pretty disappointing to see that the album that took all night to upload is gone in 24 hours.

Hey I would appreciate you uploading the Klonoa OST again. I downloaded it before but accidentally deleted it. ^^;; I did re-upload the Grandia Best of OST for you as you may or may not have seen. I’d also appreciate the SOTN OST since I never managed to get it last time.

I personally don’t care about the cuesheet (except if the rip is a single file, since I won’t be able to play it as seperate tracks in foobar2000 otherwise), but if you’re gonna go that route, don’t forget the log file also. And you’ll need to look up a good tutorial on configuring EAC, since just hitting the "Rip to WAV" button won’t do.

Filefactory has been good so far. The only thing in this topic that got deleted was my Atelier Iris 2 Bonus OST (which I just noticed), but I had that posted somewhere else too without an anonymizer (and it could’ve just expired, I never keep track of stats). So I’ll re-rip that (and the Persona 3 Best of OST too) someday…

But yeah, it seems pretty safe. You could also upload them to uppTagg’s FTP. And then I’ll download them and upload them to Filefactory myself. 😛

Ahh, sorry guys, I’ve been really busy lately =)

Okaaaay, so let’s see what’s going on here…I’ll be moving those links of yours to the main, Axersia ^^

Oh, and I have to re-up Castlevania. Mwahaha xD Damn bandwidth. Each day drags past ever so slowly when you’re waiting for it to renew. I need to ban my brother from downloading somehow.

Oh, and, considering that the main post is starting to grow quite considerably; I was thinking of ways to make it tidier and easier on the eye. One idea I had, was to have the links to the files within the actual OST name, not separate from it. You’d click the name of the OST, then it’d take you to a text file download, and the links would be in that text file (which would be anonymized of course). That would mean that the files themselves will utterly escape the ‘referrer’ problem, right? It’d really really make things alot smoother and simpler looking, thus making the page easier to navigate. What do you girls / guys think?

teblad
11-15-2007, 01:59 PM
Death Wish, that about putting the links in a text file to avoid referrer problems is pretty clever. I can imagine it would mean a bit of extra work for downloaders, but it’s totally worth it if we can stop links from being deleted. Maybe we can upload our links as text files via an anonymizer on filefactory, and the links themselves can be to mediafire or other hosts with better download limits :D. HEY THIS MAY ACTUALLY WORK, WE CAN START USING WHATEVER HOST WE WANT AGAIN! *dances around in joy* 😀 😀 😀

And, uh, it seems my internet (at home) is down for several days. I’ll be online maybe like 5 minutes sometime tomorrow and then I’ll be gone until next week, probably. I guess my uploads will have to wait 🙁

It is a little extra work, but seriously, if anyone seriously complained about having to download one simple text file first, I’d be like…O_o…’you’re getting these lossless OST’s for FREE, and yet you can’t help but moan about something xD’.

The idea of putting the links in a text file sounds OK, but it’s kind of a pain to actually download those from a file hosting service. People could just attach the text file to their own post (not sure if search engines would be able to pick them up though…), so you only have to click once to open it. But I guess mediafire is also fast enough since it doesn’t have a CAPTCHA gate.

If you just want to make the main post cleaner you could also link the OST name to the post it was posted in. It would be less maintenance work for you should the links die, and people would be able to add album art, tracklistings, and other info.

Maybe useful to note: a referrer is only a referrer if a link was clicked. By copy pasting a link to the address bar the site will not know where you came from. So putting a link between CODE tags (thus, forcing people to copy paste) would also work as an anonymizer (but they’re not protected anymore by ffshrine’s link protector).

Oh, and I’ll re-up Castlevania LoI later. ^^

Are you using Windows Vista? Since Vista’s always to blame if you use it. 😛 Maybe you should try not compressing them? I never do. It strains my CPU too much. And if you’re downloading lossless music, you shouldn’t mind downloading a few extra MBs. Difference is very minimal since FLAC does most compression already. Or maybe try a different application like ALZip (http://www.altools.net/ALTools/ALZip/tabid/53/Default.aspx).

As for me, I’m uploading Castlevania Lament Of Innocence Disc 2 finally, and I also have game rips of the games ‘Digimon Rumble Arena’ and ‘Destrega’ for the PSX in FLAC, made by myself respectively ^^ Digimon has a VERY good soundtrack in my opinion, despite being Digimon (which I thought was pretty cool anyway, the movies atleast). Some really good guitar based tracks ^^ And it has some cool melodic hero time tunes as well xD Man I love those.

Destrega is this classic fighting game made by Koei back in 1998, where you run about zapping an opponent with cool energy blasts xD It has a pretty good OST, some dramatic hero time tracks and whatnot.

Both OST’s are about 200 mb each, so yeah, I’ll get them up tomorrow ^^ My bandwidths almost back, just three more days mehahahahaa *witch cackling xD*

That’s true ^^ But, I tried to attach five link files and it has a limit as to how many you can attach, so…if you were to do the text attachment thing, eventually after many OST links, you wouldn’t be able to attach files to posts anymore (unless of course you removed, which isn’t going to work xD)

It’s easier on you guys if you upload, post the links as usual, then leave me to do all the text file work for you ^^ I’ll just slap the texts on mediafire, the download only takes about 10 seconds, so no one should really complain I don’t think?

This is a little over 900MBs worth of music. Axersia could I ask you a favor? Could you please mirror this download once you’ve checked to make sure that all of my files went through OK? If anyone’s having trouble extracting the files please tell me which ones and I’ll upload those individually. So far I’ve extracted them all without a single problem.

Well I hope you all enjoy this. 😎

But DeathWish, if you upload the text files on mediafire, mediafire might delete those links. Maybe you can just collect everything inside the text files into one single big document that you attach to the first post?

Hey Axersia could you please re-upload the song "15-Seymour Battle" from Final Fantasy X (Disc4)? It says that that file is corrupt/broken. I’ve extracted all of the CDs and that’s the only song that didn’t go through. Sorry to bother you with this.

Also, I got the FFIX OST from uppTagg’s FTP, but I can’t seem to get the second track from the second disc so I haven’t uploaded it. Not sure if it’s my FTP client or something else.

Could you maybe upload it separately uppTagg?

Don’t worry if it’s not totally PERFECT ^^ From what I read on the hydrogenaudio forums, an utterly 100% copy of any music is impossible because of some random stuff I can’t remember. Just rip it in the best way you can according to a decent ripping guide, and we’ll appreciate it because it’s lossless =) So if you could do that, we’d really be grateful, considering Crisis Core is a fantastic OST.

I can login to mediafire with no problem. I would like us all to go back to mediafire, because filefactory has not only a captcha but a download limit. Download limits for people with slow internet connections (= me) mean this scenario:

I click the download button.
I wait 2 hours for the file to download.
I wait 3 hours for the limit to reset. By this time it’s about 2 am in the morning and I’m busy getting my beauty sleep. At day I’m not at home, so I have to wait to about 5 pm in the afternoon when I’m at the computer again.
After, say, four days, Chrono Cross OST is finally on my computer, and I can go on to the next thing I want to download.

I will continue using mediafire for my uploads, as long as the link anonymizing works. I can only pray for that you other guys will follow my lead…

EDIT: I’m not meaning to complain or anything. This thread still rocks. :coolegg:

Ahh, worry not, I don’t take it as complaining! I understand the pains of download limits =/ It’s pretty annoying, although they do make sense, considering that unlimited downloads probably strain their servers a tonne.

We’ve all tried Mediafire, yet it just seems to own us for free even with anonymization. I anonymized heaps of stuff on there and now my account’s totally gone. I hate to say it, but they’re ON to us, and it seems as though they want us all to suffer the futility of uploading massive files only to have them deleted within a day. From my personal experience, I’m quite loathe to return there you see O_O Other people can if they like? You can if you like, if it seems to be working for you, but others of us probably won’t follow along because seeing our uploads (mine in particular with my limits) axed immediately is pretty heartbreaking xD

Tell me what you think, anyway!

It is a bit annoying having to wait 2 hours between files. I usually only download 2 files a day because of it. But it’s still better than having your account deleted and 20GB of data with it. So I’m not going back to mediafire.

Amen. I hate DL limits too, but arrrgh…atleast they stay for a while.

teblad, my heart bleeds for you 🙁 I can’t tell you what the problem is though. Which disc of Castlevania is broken, by the way? Oh, and I have all the POTC’s…but hmmm, what other movies. I guess, Gladiator….uhh….The Last Samurai’s not too bad either. Movies with dramatic as scores like that ^^ Time Machine was also pretty alright, by Klaus Badelt of course, composer of the first POTC soundtrack, which just so happens to be the best of the three (in my opinion). Hans Zimmer’s works seem lackluster in comparison (once again in my opinion xD). Though he does have some epics, his POTC works aren’t as consistently grand as Klaus Badelt’s in ‘The Curse Of The Black Pearl’. Okay, now I’m talking shit xD

And uppTagg, you are a legend among mortals. You shall be added to the main post 🙂

That Digimon OST is surprisingly good for a Digimon based game. Tracks 8 to 14 are the best ones in my opinion, they just change from then on and become all energetic and include mad guitar xD Note, it’s a game rip, tagged ordered and bla bla by myself. I just called all the stage themes ‘battle I, battle II, battle III’, and so on, because in playing through the game and testing it all out, I found the themes play at random, as in, there doesn’t at all seem to be any themes designated to specific characters. Thus they’re simply ‘battle themes’ and so on. Hahaha, listen to battle XIII, it’s such a cheesy dramatic hero time theme, I LOVE it xD

As for the Destrega OST, it follows the same format, but the stage tracks are actually just called ‘battle 1 – 8′ in the sound test mode in the game, so yeah xD I name them with roman numerals cause it looks better to me, but hey, your OST’s my friends, do what the hell you like to ’em xD I just tried to make them as neat and consistent as possible. I even had to clock the games to look at the credits and see who composed the music xD

Looks like filefactory deleted some stuff again (at least Star Ocean, Clannad and Disgaea). It made me wonder how long files last without being downloaded anyway. Turns out it’s only 7 days, which is really, really short.

It’s also been almost impossible for me to download anything from filefactory. I constantly get the "slots are full" message, and when I do get in, the download just times out eventually. I still haven’t gotten the Chrono stuff. So I’m really not sure if I should continuing uploading to it… Not that I know any other sites that would be a better choice.

I’ve been looking for Megaman (known as Rockman in Japan) music in FLAC lossless and so far haven’t found any yet. One set of Megaman music that I like is from Megaman Network Transmission for the Game Cube but I can’t seem to find any evidence of there being an official soundtrack.

Fear not, I am trying =) I leave the download on constantly waiting for the source to come back. I’m dependant on the user who actually has the files to log on, so until they do, we’ll have to wait unless I can find another source, and believe me sir, I’m searching ^^

CyberSpark, Soul Calibur is also subject to the same concept. I’m reliant on the user/source to come online to get the files, but worry not, it should be soon enough! And I understand your want for SC2 first xD I consider it the best of the three myself, music wise ^^

–Request–

Lair Original Game Score (http://gamemusichall.net/music/Lair/lair.php)

It’s no problem ^^

As for your other requests as well as anyone elses, I’ll keep searching every day on the program I use just incase they pop up, but I can’t guarantee anything. I’ll notify you guys if I find them though, as with any other OST’s that have been requested. If I find them I’ll let you guys know immediately, otherwise I haven’t found them 🙂 Mwahah, just to let you know.

Also, remember that I can only use this downloading prog between the hours of about 2am to 4pm in the afternoon. I go to bed at about 10:30pm so I don’t get a chance to download at night because I’m not up late enough, and I wake up at about 7 or 8am in the morning, and have about 5 hours to get all I can in terms of both up and downloads before I leave at about 11:30 to go and do stuff, like clean and practice my guitar and exercise and stuff. So typically, my OST downloading frame is only about 5 hours a day. I can’t leave downloads on while I’m away either, because my brother’s here and in this house, if you get off the PC, it’s someone else’s turn; it’s just an unwritten rule.

All that is just to let you guys know, rather than seem like I’m being lazy or incompetent with your requests. I promise you I really am trying to find you guys the stuff you’re asking for. I just have weird limitations, both connection and practically based =)

Yes, you need to download them all (except for scans) and extract them with WinRAR.

You can play TTA (True Audio) files with foobar2000.

Also, I just downloaded the FFTA2 OST, so I’ll upload that later after I finish Culdcept II. I’m currently also downloading the ASH Archaic Sealed Heat OST, but the torrent is kinda shaky so don’t get your hopes up. Should’ve downloaded it sooner… Torrents just aren’t that popular in Japan and die out fast.

Umm may i request just one track. It’s called " Lost Painiting" please?
It’s the only track i really want in flac. >_<

Sure, here (http://www.filefactory.com/file/56654d/) ya go. ^^

Also, anyone else think this topic deserves a 5-star rating? Come on Sarah (http://forums.ffshrine.org/member.php?u=4) (at least, I think it has to be a mod, since I have no idea how to rate a topic), give us one! It has enough FF music to back it up! ><

Speaking of FF, next up is FFTA2.

Hahah, I’ve got disc one of that F-ZERO AX-GX arranged OST too. Them users are being a bother and not coming back online so I can reap all those tasty OST’s though xD Damn it, they’re probably on Christmas holiday or something haha, they all have lives.

Awesome! I’m finally back, and thanks a lot Death Wish for the Soul Calibur albums. Although it’s not Soul Calibur II it is my second favorite Soul Calibur OST (Downloading immediately).

Axersia I was actually going to upload Smashing…Live! Live Orchesta Music in FLAC with cue sheet but if it’s fine without I’ll just find something else to upload.

Oh yeah and I too would like to know how to make this a 5 star rated thread. I looked around for the setting but I wasn’t able to find it.

They must’ve had to change things around to cope with the immense transfer loads they’re getting xD It’s pretty annoying I know, I have to wait 58 minutes all the time, but ahhh, as you say in situations like these; ‘better than nothing’ xD

Oh, and you’re welcome for SC3 ^^ I’m getting disc one of that F-Zero AX-GX OST up now. Man, I seriously didn’t expect that it’d be so tedious to get these OST’s from people (in respect to me fulfilling requests), but hey, what can you do ^^ Just wait…and wait.

But why download it in the first place if you wanna convert it to MP3s? :/

Hm…I’m not sure if that was a solution to my problem or that you agree that the first and the second file is damaged…(the third one is fine for me as well).
Another thing…When I try to unrar the FF x-2 OST I get the error message
"This file is either in unknown format or damaged".
I renamed the file to .zip or .rar but the first part of disc 1 can’t extract even a single file whereas the disc 2 works for me. (downloaded the first part twice)

About Chrono Cross; I can’t re-up it because I wasn’t particularly interested in that particular OST, therefore I don’t have it. So for that one, we’ll have to rely on CyberSpark I think. I apologize deeply for that one.

May as well note too again, that I only withhold the OST’s I personally like, due to my limits. If I had the PC space and the bandwidth freedom, I’d download everything put up here and happily reupload it for all time, but until things on those fronts change, that concept sort of sticks. I’ll hold on to particular OST’s for the purpose of reupping if one of you guys would really like me to, though ^^

And, Axersia, if I may as you a mighty favor; could you re-up this anytime; Gyakuten Saiban Ochestra Album ~Gyakuten Meets Saiban~ (Phoenix Wright).

Someone notified me the links were dead and has expressed a desire for the OST, so, if you would (in your own time of course), as always, it’d be greatly appreciated =)

I’ll keep an eye out for those OST’s you’ve requested too.

Additionally, all these strange error’s popping up with the rars. They work for some people, not for others. Arrrgh, what’s the problem? O_O When it isn’t universal, it’s safe to say it’s that particular persons PC or their connection stability, but hmmm, still, I don’t know.

Yeah I’ve been having a lot of problems with some of the OSTs, especially the Final Fantasy OSTs, that I at one time didn’t have. 🙁 When I first got them from fast_eddie’s thread everything was fine for the most part but just a few months later and out of nowhere I’m getting these gaps of silence and CRC errors that definitely weren’t there before, this is the reason why I haven’t been uploading anything recently. Unless someone else is able to re-upload some of the albums that have been found to be corrupt there’s not much that I can do to fix these problems. :erm:

For any future albums that I may have I’ll make sure to thoroughly inspect the files before uploading them, that’s about all that I can promise for now. Oh btw there are some CRC errors too (about 3 or 4) in the Soul Calibur III OST.

I don’t know any sites that would allow 700MB, but you can split the upload in multiple files with something like WinRAR (or if they’re separate tracks, just spread the tracks over multiple folders manually).

As you may have seen though, we’re in kind of a pickle. Our usual site (filefactory) seems to be corrupting our uploads. So I’m not really sure what site to recommend… I guess you could go with megaupload, but they’re pretty fast with deleting stuff. They’ve already deleted the MP3 version of Sam & Max you uploaded. You don’t need to worry about re-uploading though, I’ll do that. So just go with whatever site you wish (except filefactory). Oh and thanks a lot for making this OST available to us! ^^

I think that would be Badongo (http://www.badongo.com/). They also haven’t deleted anything I uploaded.

I’m not sure what the size limit is, but they split every file you upload into separate 100MB files. The reason not many people use it is because you need to either download Badongo’s file joining application, or use the "copy /b" command in the command prompt (both of which people find scary, apparently). Of course, you could also just split them yourself.

In the process of re-downloading some of my videos I remembered that the site that hosted them never deleted the links, even after 11Months! you can also upload up to 1GB worth of files. I’m just throwing things out there since all of the others files hosting sites are failing on us. .

Filefront definitely isn’t for me. I’ve never successfully downloaded anything there, and when I just tried to upload something, I got a rate of 150kbps.

Badongo’s speed is a bit better, but it takes me over an hour to upload a 100MB file. That just won’t do, so I’m still not sure where to upload next.

Christ this took AGES to get up on Megaupload, so let’s get this one out the way and I’ll send the next tomorrow.

Here’s a tip if you want to upload more in less time: convert the tracks to FLAC. WAVs are uncompressed and quite big. The ZIP file was 378MB, and extracted the folder was 420MB. When I converted the WAVs to FLAC, they were only 228MB. That’s quite a bit of difference. If you want to convert them, I recommend foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/).

All you do is install, drop the tracks in there, select them all, right click, choose convert, select FLAC lvl 8 (highest lvl of FLAC compression), and click OK.

Also, once again, thanks for making this available!

It’s the strangest thing. I just went through decoding "Eternity ~Memory of the Lightwaves~ Music from Final Fantasy X-2" from FLAC to WAVE and the WAVE files sound perfect, not a single flaw. Then I decoded those same files back to FLAC (1.2.1b) and there were no visible errors, in fact I used the FLAC Frontend to test the files for any CRC errors and there were none, however, when I listened through the now decoded FLAC files there was a noticeable audible skip/gap in the music. Huh? I tested these files through the FLAC Frontend again and still no visible errors, it said the FLAC files were OK. Does this sound strange to anyone else?

I think that I might be able to re-upload this album but I would not like it at all if I had to listen through every album that I’m about to upload just to make sure that what the frontend is telling me is true.

I wrote a long post but lost it while looking up an English word on wikipedia… on the same page!!
Whatever, the conclusions was… FileFront is probably not corrupting the files… so unless you’ve got problems besides that one you should keep it.
And yes, the problems with "Eternity ~Memory of the Lightwaves" lies probably with the original files.
Me failing to unRAR Final Fantasy X-2 OST may have to do with me not understanding how to do it (if I’m the only one with that problem).
Since the "part 2" of the discs worked as they should (after I changed the filename back to zip or rar) maybe I didn’t do something I was supposed to keep the continuity with the parts of the discs. Help with that one please.

I’d like to request the OST for Dark Cloud, Dark Chronicle, Unlimited SaGa or Romancing SaGa.
Still I need help with unRARing "Final Fantasy X-2 OST" and "Final Fantasy X-2: Eternity (Memory Of Lightwaves)" needs to be reuploaded with files that aren’t flawed.
How do you play tta-files on foobar2000?

Fixed the tta-thing…seems like I had an old version of Foobar2000 and could not install the plugin…

But seriously, this thread has lost it’s glory…It’s time to bring it back.
Start by removing the dead links, and the files you do something special to there needs to be clear instructions how to manage them (I’m thinking of something other than ape or flac files in zip/rar)
And another suggestion: let us see which albums that are more wanted, so that the nice uploaders don’t spend all their time, bandwidth and disc space for an album only one or two persons wants while, well… you get the picture.
Anyone agrees? This should be doable.

To anyone that is still wanting "Final fantasy X-2 OST", "Final Fantasy X-2, Eternity ~Memory of the Lightwaves" and "Chrono Cross OST" there may be a bit of a delay due to the many computer problems that I’ve been having that have caused some serious damage to some of my audio and video files. I’m currently try to get these repaired/re-uploaded so that I can post the new links here.

With regards to "Final Fantasy X-2 Eternity ~Memory of the Lightwave". If anyone has been having trouble with this album then I might be able to re-upload it sooner rather then later. I’ve decoded all 3 tracks back to WAVE format and put them of CD. All songs play through flawlessly without any CRC errors or anything. Maybe later today or later tomorrow.

You’re quite right. For starters though, I naturally assumed that anyone downloading lossless formats would know how to manage and play them, although I agree; it would be prudent to provide instructions ^^

As for dead links; I’ll remove them. I typically relied on users wanting to download the OST’s to tell me of their dead-ness, and I figured if no one tells me they’re dead, no one wants to download that particular OST because no one’s tried the links. There’s not so much point in reuploading OST’s just to have them sit there for 7 days un downloaded and thus deleted from the file host (well, atleast when I’m uploading them given the bandwidth limits). Though, you’re right; I shall keep up with the OST’s the best I can in terms of their file life.

As for request OST’s, I don’t at all plan on keeping them; I’ll upload them, and if I don’t personally like the OST and am doing it solely for a request purpose, I’m going to delete it from my HD once I know someone else has downloaded it and the files are all in proper working order. File hosting sites are being a whore, making it incredibly difficult to upload things with a feeling of security. It sucks the chronic xD

As for OST’s them selves and the appearance of new ones; I’m trying to get them, but the last week it’s been atrocious. I’ve just been unlucky in that regard, and just have to keeeeep waaaaiiiting.

Oh, and I’ve found the Dark Chronicle Premium arrange upon searching ‘Dark Cloud’, although I have to queue it and again, just wait. That’s if you want it ^^

Deleted a load of links, and updated the main post to link to the foobar player, as well as the FLAC codec and the APE plugin for foobar.

I listed all the links I’d deleted in a text file, but then went to close the text file and didn’t save it, because I’m a phenomenal moron, so I can’t remember exactly what’s gone, but I’ll do my best to list as many as I can remember.

Atelier Best
Clannad
Clannad (Forest Of The Piano)
Planetarian
Castlevania (Lament Of Innocence)
Zelda: Ocarina Of Time
Final Fantasy VII Piano
Final Fantasy VII Advent Children
Final Fantasy IX (Half the links are dead) All I need is disc four of this and I can be a mirror.
Final Fantasy X (Disc 2 is dead)
Final Fantasy X: Feel Go Dream
Final Fantasy X-2 Yuna Vocal Collection
Disgaea 2
Chrono Cross
Chrono Symphonic
Wipeout PC

Hadn’t set it to public yet. You should be able to download it now. The upload speed sucked. Not sure about the download speed… You tell me.

WV and FLAC play in foobar2000 natively, and TTA needs a plugin (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/tta/ttaplugin-foobar-2.4.2.zip?download).

Most of my non-FLAC uploads are actually single files, which you can play as separate tracks by dropping the cuesheet in foobar2000. Might want to add that to the first post too.

I’ll re-upload some of the OSTs, but probably not all. I’m surprised so much FF OSTs got deleted… It’s too bad there’s no way to renew your links at filefactory other than downloading the complete file.

Hey Death Wish. I can provide assistance for other Mac users such as myself.

You can add to the first post that if you use a Mac, download the program called "xACT" here: http://tc.versiontracker.com/product/redir/lid/1223665/xACT162.dmg.zipxACT

Use xACT to turn the .flac file into something iTunes can use, such as .aiff (recommended) or .wav.

I found a game called Dynasty (http://www.reflexive.com/Dynasty.html) and I really liked the music to it, so I went through the credits of the game to find out the name of the composer (Michael Ivashenko). I found his website but is was in Russian. Thanks to the many add-ons of Firefox I found something to translate the site into English and I then proceeded to contact the composer via e-mail. To my surprise he responded and eventually sent me the music to the game in FLAC lossless. He said that I could share the music with all of you, so…. 🙂

Yup, that’s exactly how it went. As a result I started to e-mail other composes who had not formerly released their music as an official soundtrack. This included music written for TV shows and other video game music compilations. Sometimes though it’s not always easy because the of companies that hold the rights to that music even though the composer may be willing to share their work.

I’ve been trying to get in contact with the studio that made the F-Zero GX/AX soundtrack to see if I can get the cut-scene music that was not made available on the OST. Time for some updated translation software.

Okaaay…I have Valkyrie Profile arrange album completed, and the live Star Ocean / Valkyrie Profile concert complete, but I’m not uploading them until the 23rd of this month because I’m trying to save money and if my bandwidth ticks over its limit then I’ll have to pay more and it’s already incredibly expensive.

After I upload those, though, I must report with mighty regret that I can no longer contribute. Without me, this thread is still great; we’ve already managed to spread a good few valuable OST’s around, and this place is pretty fantastic.

The following problems I face though are thus, and they’re becoming all the more apparent to me the longer I try to maintain this thread. The following isn’t me complaining to you; it’s me admitting that I underestimated how it’d effect my routines, my time, and so forth. I know no ones making me fulfill requests but myself, and that I offered. I know that no ones forcing or expecting me to do anything, so don’t at all interpret this as me ‘blaming’ any of you or saying that this is your fault, as it is my own solely. I merely wish to explain because I feel I should explain.

Firstly, my bandwidth limits. It goes way, way too fast. I can barely make 30 gb last two weeks with my family hammering it down to nothing, and every 5 gb over that limit I’m hammered another ten dollars, which is increasingly frustrating considering that there are many things I want to download for myself, and many things I want to download for you guys and in turn upload for you guys. I thought I’d be able to manage but it knocks roughly 1.6GB off my limit to download and upload a decent two disc OST. Possible re-uploads due to link deletion can harm that further, and relying on Axersia for mirrors forever isn’t exactly fair, considering we all have lives, and considering it’s not anyones responsibility to maintain my OST’s but myself. That isn’t the biggest issue, but if I managed to fulfill everyone’s requests in bulk as they probably wish I could, then I’d be 10 GB out in a few days with ease, and with everyone else in my family relentlessly hammering away at it as well, it’d be gone much, much too fast. This isn’t fun because I end up getting the short end of the stick in regards to stuff I’ve been dying to download for ages (which are on torrent), and the torrents eventually become sterile and I curse myself.

Additionally, I find myself on the PC far too much in order to accomplish the completion of these OST’s. I have routines, and once again thought I could work around them, but I underestimated how time consuming it can be to wait around for these things to start downloading. Everyday I’m losing valuable time simply waiting for an OST to start, when I could be using the time to practice my guitar and study, both things being of paramount importance to me. I can’t leave the PC and do something else while I wait because around here the rule is, if you get off, you’re finished on the thing. I’ve wasted a tonne of perfectly usable weeks waiting for OST’s which never start. You guys know, I hardly ever upload anything new because the process is so damn slow and dependant on unpredictable factors. Due to this, I feel like an inefficient contributor and the thread’s sort of dumbing down. Again, I underestimated and thought this would be way easier.

Lastly, and this point pretty much make the first two utterly pale in comparison, and is actually what has forced me to come out with this; I’ve recently gotten a job, so my morning computer hours are eradicated, as I must rise early and depart immediately. I won’t be able to download P2P style because I won’t be home during the time frame in which internet traffic is low and my ISP allows me to do it. It only allows me to DL from P2P in the hours between 2am and 4pm. I’ll be in bed by 11pm, and up at about 8am, and will have to leave immediately, getting home at around 4, right when the internet traffic boosts cause it’s a ‘peak time’. I officially have no practical time for VGM downloads at all, except during the weekends and a day or two I may have off a week depending on the situation at work. And on those free days, I’ll desperately want to dedicate the time to myself and my goals, as is understandable.

Basically, at the end of the day, I feel that based on the above, I can’t practically maintain this thread in terms of me contributing and fulfilling requests. I can come and sort out new VGM uploads and everything, but any uploads from myself will be incredibly scarce starting next week given work starting. If only I had infinite bandwidth and no ‘specific’ hours in which I could download…then I’d just let it burn all night and everything would be fine. But that isn’t the case, and all of these things are rebounding back on me and yeah…what else can I say guys? O_O

I know some of you guys will be disappointed probably, considering that I did promise you I’d eventually get you these OST’s you’ve really been looking forward to. I might be able to contribute something new every once in a blue moon, but I doubt at that stage that anyone will really care.

What I do recommend that some of you guys here do is get the P2P prog ‘DC++’ (http://optusnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/dcplusplus/DCPlusPlus-0.699.exe). It’s what I use to get all the OST’s I do. I HIGHLY recommend you do this. I’m posting a picture tutorial for anyone who wants to use it, because if you want the OST’s you ask of me, DC++ is the best way to search for them. Especially you, CyberSpark. Certain users have alot of brilliant lossless material. One user in particular is ‘Ultracain’. He’s got almost everything Final Fantasy in FLAC. I’ve been waiting on him to come back for ages.

Anyway, here’s the picture tutorial to DC++ in 8 basic, easy steps for anyone interested in getting stuff from where I get stuff >> http://www.mediafire.com/?33ihdghad1z

So my friends, I’ll wait and see what you’ve got to say about all this.

If you’re unfamiliar but curious about this soundtrack then check out the Mp3 streams here: ff7.ocremix.org (http://ff7.ocremix.org/tracks/).

This is a really good album. I just discovered it a couple months ago. I’d also HIGHLY recommend Chrono Symphonic (http://chrono.ocremix.org/) which, as the name implies, is a collection of symphonic arrangements from the Chrono games.

Btw, you can find information about and download links for these and the 7 other OCRemix albums here:

Each of the albums includes a torrent download option, and includes lossless versions of the songs (in FLAC for some games, WAV for others). The torrents are pretty active, so the complete album can be downloaded really quickly.

I’ve been trying to search for Destrega OST, and I saw a link at the first page. The problem was that when I click on the link, I get this: "Sorry, this file is no longer available. It may have been deleted by the uploader, or has expired." Now, since I’m a very lazy person, I didn’t watch too closely through this thread, so I’d like to request that somebody would kindly post me a link to get the Destrega OST. I’m very grateful to anybody who answers this cry for help.

I can do this. My sister pushed us over the bandwidth limit, so I have five GB I need to use in one night xD I shall use it on you guys. So Valkyrie Profile Arrange and the Live Concert are coming.

Phew, first week at work, was pretty fun haha =)

Also, let me note, Teblads links to ‘Symphony Of The Night’ are STILL active on Mediafire, and that OST was posted AGES ago. I think making the links anonymous did the trick, so I’m going to try Mediafire again. The longer they last the better.

Also, I ran through the OST’s to find broken links again. Here’s an update on dead links;

Culdcept II OST Deluxe
Soshite Ashita no Sekai Yori OST
Final Fantasy VII: Dirge Of Cerberus
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy X-2
Final Fantasy X-2 Piano Collections
Final Fantasy X-2: Eternity (Memory Of Lightwaves)
The Black Mages
The Black Mages: The Skies Above
Super Smash Bros. Melee ~SMASHING…LIVE! 15 MELEE CLASSICS~
Valkyrie Profile

Anyone wants to re-up them, feel free ^^ Valkyrie Profile’s not a problem because I have it, but all the rest of them are whoever elses choice. If you choose to reupload, do so whereever you wish, but note again that I’m currently re-trialling Mediafire due to the surprising life of Teblads Castlevania links, so maybe Mediafire is once again a viable option (given the links are anonymous).

Thanks for the OST, Death Wish, but for some reason when trying to download the second part, the site says "NOTICE: No servers are currently available with the requested data on them. Please retry your request in a moment." Do I just have to wait until it lets me download the part?

Yup, sure do ^^ Just keep trying. There’s obviously too many people hammering the site and that’s a safety mechanism to stop overload or something. Just wait about and keep trying and it’ll go ^^

I’m sorry to say it, but I think this thread is pretty much dead or on some weird form of life support. No one’s posted for ages, probably cause of Christmas and New Years, but wishful thinking aside, it’s more than likely because I can’t maintain this thread and contribute enough. I was going to upload some OST’s about a week ago but I haven’t been able to because of work and the whole Christmas ordeal and whatnot.

Someone might re-up it, but if you want it you could try PMing Axersia, the original uploader of the OST ^^ Hope I could help.

Sorry that I haven’t been around lately but I’ve been kinda busy. Death Wish I wouldn’t count this thread out just yet, it has plenty more steam and I’d be upset to see another lossless thread die like fast_eddie’s thread.

When I’m able to get back to uploading I’ll have a nice treat for all of ya, but I intend to upload it all in its own thread since it’s quite a bit of music. 🙂 I won’t say what it is just yet but I’m sure many of you follow audiophiles will like it.

See ya.

Edit: I had to edit because of typos all over the place. 😮

It has been a while. 🙂 Death Wish if you’re still checking in on this thread I should be uploading some music soon but I was thinking of putting it in its own thread so that it’ll be easier to find; I’ll provide the link to my thread in this thread and then you can do whatever you want with it. Sound good?

Before I upload anything new I’m going to try to re-upload what I’ve been able to re-retrieve what I’ve lost from my computer. First up will be Chrono Cross Original Soundtrack (FLAC + log + Cue + MD5) since it has been requested so often. Nice day all. 🙂

Well, what I would be happy to suggest is if you, cyberspark, simply take all the current OST links, set them up in your own thread, and cancel out this one, because I really and truly have little to no time to sort this place out anymore, which is very disappointing. Everything really got screwed when I got a job, and my weekends are spent on other things. It’s not so hard to come here and check things which I do, but I think it’d do much better under more active management like yourself, and so that is why I propose that you restart this thread as mod, take all the current links, and make it yours, basically. Then I can just be a basic contributor if I ever get the time to upload some stuff. At this point I’d rather not deal with the responsibility of the thread when I can’t be here nearly as often as I’d like. What do you think? I think it’s a pretty good idea. I know your lossless thread probably wouldn’t die at all. Curse life and work and so on xD

Have you decided on a name for the thread?

CyberSpark
01-20-2008, 06:03 AM
I haven’t even asked about it, whether or not I can edit or change this thread. Death Wish isn’t the only one with a job (no offense intended upon anybody) but I have one as well and it keeps me from visiting here as often as I’d like, just look how far apart some of my responses are, however I think that I can come in on occasions and update any content posted and maybe do a little posting on my own.

What I’d prefer for this thread is that it be the central place to get all sorts of music (VGM Anime, maybe even movie soundtracks) in lossless, or maybe it should just stay for VGM, You can help me figure that out. If this thread were stickied and contained links to the individual posts that contained the lossless music that would be very good in my opinion.

Final name for this thread is pending but feel free to throw me some ideas.
Death Wish are you sure about this? I wouldn’t want to be hijacking your thread or anything like that.

Well alright; I won’t throw this thread at anyone else. I’ve had a think and I realize that in truth I do wish to keep it going. I was feeling abit tired out and bothered when I wrote that, but I realize that I CAN work around certain things. I just need to function with a few other reliable folk like you, CyberSpark. What would REALLY help, would be to have a reliable file hosting site. Here’s a simple list of what’s deterred me thus far, in order of importance;

1 – my limited bandwidth
2 – sites deleting files thus wasting my limited bandwidth
3 – job (insult to injury)

I apologize for not considering that you may be just as busy as I, Cyber ^^ I thought I’d ask you because you seemed quite positive about the threads fate and I on the other hand felt quite pessimistic. However, I just gave it some thought and I’d really like to keep it going.

It IS interesting to note that filefactory still maintains my OST’s even though no ones downloaded them for ages. I’ll start uploading again, but my contribution will be slow. I don’t like contributing slowly when I have access to heaps of stuff but my limits require I be regulate…additionally, I’m saving to travel ^^

Anyway, that’s my yarn for now. Also, interesting to note, the Destrega part 2 link now seems to be functioning. I was like ‘what the hell’ xD

CyberSpark

Cool, good thing I asked. ^^ OK so first thing is to find a solution to keeping links up and running. You know I thought of something but I’m not too sure how it would work or if it will work.

There’s a little program called Orb which allows one to store their music, video, pictures, ect. One thing that I think I remember mentioned somewhere in that site is that you could store music folders and even share links to that music with other, are you catching my drift. 🙂

Basically if a second drive or even a virtual drive could be set up which will contain the music that you wan to share you could upload the link (make anonymous also) then people could download directly from that drive without you having to use any bandwidth downloading albums and then uploading them again, at least I think that this is how it might work.

The main feature of the program is that you could load folders of music, pictures, videos and stream then to various electronic devices. I had this working on my Nintendo Wii. I was able to listen to my music as long as I had Orb installed and my computer remained on, had hi-speed (decent speed) connections on both sides and the internet channel. I just though that maybe it could work in this situation so that we wouldn’t even have to bother with these silly file hosting sites.

Well maybe some of us could investigate and see how/if this will work. Here’s the site where you can download orb: Orb.com (http://www.orb.com/orb/)

i decided to try one disc on that torrent, and it turns out its the same copy that i had before (i think).

there are three tracks, one on each disc, i found that cut the endings:

Disc 1: track 24 (~ ancient dragon fort)
Disc 2: track 20 (~ gale)
Disc 3: track 12 (~ into a time of darkness)

it feels like the track cuts when there is about 10 secs left or something, wich is very, very annoying.

no rush tho dude, fix your computer 😀 im the one rightfully suffering from my pendantry when it comes to music 😀 haha

anyway, if anyone else got this torrent copy and has full versions of those songs, please let me know!

Hey guys ^__^ I’m back to sort out the main post and things related.

I’m only going to upload properly ripped log+cue stuff from this day forward, by the way. I’ll also sort out a tutorial for using DC++, the peer to peer program from which I attained many of my OST’s. It’s very helpful and you can gather a good bit of rare material from there as I have.

I haven’t posted for a while because of reasons mentioned in previous posts, but I’m making sure I keep up with everything now and again.

A problems arisen with my connection though; recently, we were going through horrendous disconnection spells, namely, 120 knockouts a day. We rang the ISP to correct this, and it was corrected. However, as some kind of odd side effect to this repair, my upload speed is now painfully reduced. Previously, I could upload at 70kbps, and now it’s 10kbps consistently, even though I’m still paying for the higher speed. I’m going to give them a call to rectify this garbage so I can get an OST or two through for the first time in ten years =/

Anyway guys, fear not. I’m still around, I’m just working this sort of ill service out. Thank you anyone for contributions while I’ve been away ^__^

Good to see you back. Some more info on the DD++ would be useful because I tried it for a little bit but I couldn’t quite get it to work the way it should. A ton of awesome soundtracks were uploaded while you were gone. 😀

Btw I posted a link to a torrent filled with Sonic music in lossless audio. Now it’s a little difficult to post links using the Nintendo Wii so if you do a search on the forum you’ll find the "Sonic Music in APE and FLAC" thread. 🙂

Excellent ^__^

You can’t get DC++ to work right? It should be fine if you followed the instructions I posted, BUT I’ll review them and see if I missed anything out, as it can be troublesome. It could have something to do with your connection settings, which, unless you’ve gone through all that port forwarding jazz, should be set to ‘passive’.

I’ve got the Destrega soundtrack remade properly, and am getting Valkyrie Profile arranged back. I’m re-downloading everything in the proper log+cue format because all of a sudden I became a beserk perfectionist hahaha ^__^

Don’t worry about the main post either, anyone. I removed all of it temporarily due to the fact that all the links were dead pretty much, with the exception of some stuff I’ll put back up as soon as I can.

I’ll return tomorrow and get sorting, as for now I must sleep ^__^

I know that I said the next upload would be Chrono Cross Original Soundtrack but I decided to first tag all of the tracks, as they weren’t previously, and then upload. For the meantime this one is ready to go now:

–Download–
========================================
Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Original Soundtrack (FLAC)
========================================

Final Fantasy Advent Children Original Soundtrack part1 (http://www.filefactory.com/file/d5181b/)
Final Fantasy Advent Children Original Soundtrack part2 (http://www.filefactory.com/file/ba5344/)

Sorry to bother you, but the files were deleted. Could someone please reupload them?
Thank you!
Ekfxe

Edit:
Also, if possible, could someone upload the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series in lossless format, maybe even Kingdom Hearts, if someone has finished downloading it.
Any input will be very much appreciated. Thank you so much!

I don’t remember what page exactly but you can check around this thread for two torrents that somebody provided. One is a torrent for lossless Final Fantasy music (most is in lossless, entire torrent = 40+ GB) and the other is for the Kingdom Hearts Original Soundtrack Complete Box (lossless) which has 9 CDs worth of music. So basically everything you’re looking for is just a few pages or so back. 🙂

I’m currently uploading some other things, so I’ll finish those first and upload Odin Sphere later (probably tomorrow).

Also, I’ll be uploading it in lossless APE format, since that’s the format I have it in and I don’t feel like converting. So if you absolutely need to have it in FLAC, you’ll have to convert it yourself.

Usually WinRAR handles what 7-zip doesn’t and vice versa. There is also PeaZip.

This same site just so happened to have another great soundtrack, in proper lossless format, that I was lookibg for, one classified as "extremely rare" by the game’s fansite: Granado Espada Original Soundtrack Volume 1 (4-Disc). 😀

VGMdb lists two releases:

The second one isn’t a reprint, it’s a remaster by one of the game’s sound technicians. If you’ve got the actual CD or even an .nfo file with the info, could you give me the catalog number?

Hello all,

I’m relatively new here. I was wondering if anyone has uploaded flac versions of the Panzer Dragoon soundtracks, in particular the RPG AZEL (or Saga) one?

Next, for my contribution 🙂 I can offer flac uploads for the following:

Grim Fandango
Nights Journey of Dreams (3 CDs)

I haven’t uploaded them yet, in case no one wants them, so just post here if you do.

Cheers!

Perhaps, let me check.

Edit: Gimme a few days and I should have it ready. The archive includes 2 APE Image files, 4 CUE sheets and 2 log files – this is not my rip, however.

While FLAC VGM is a novelty, I feel that with the exception of some modern soundtracks, using the FLAC format is pointless. I’m no expert here, so correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe most VGM that uses a sample-based "module" format (most VGM for that matter) will already use compressed audio.

Could someone explain to me the benefits of FLAC in these instances? Of course I imagine the official soundtracks of some games will be released with less-compressed audio than in the game.

Again, I don’t know much about this, but it’s been bugging me. If someone could clear this up I’d appreciate it.

Hi Shaun. A lot of the video game music released on official soundtrack usually use uncompressed audio; not the same compressed audio used in the game. In the case that you’re ripping from a CD and you want to retain all of the data that’s on the original disc, it’s best to use some kind of lossless format, such as FLAC, and make sure that the data being ripped is a bit-accurate copy of the original. No less important, a CUE sheet should always be created to allow for the original layout of the disc to be reconstructed and also a log file so that the rip can be inspected for errors, that’s why Exact Audio Copy is recommended, it’ll do all of this when setup properly. 🙂

I know that VGM does make it to the regular CDDBs, but I don’t think … ‘lossless’ discids so that the script would catch them both;
