Yes, it is. The previous one (2007 reissue) has the same audio quality of LUPIN THE REMASTER CD 1, but without its bonus tracks. The new one (2015 reissue) has a better sound than LUPIN THE REMASTER!

Out of curiosity, here goes a list of all CD releases of the 1st OST album and their audio quality.

1985 (33C35-7575): First time on CD. Very early times for digital audio. Poor 16bit mastering.
1989 (CC-3369): Perhaps had an improvement, but it was still in 16bit era.
1991 (COCC-7341 – CD1 of LUPIN III BOX): Same sound of the 1989 reissue.
1993 (COCC-10712): Same as 1989.
1994 (COCC-12206): Same as 1989.
2004 (COCX-32654 – CD1 of LUPIN THE REMASTER): The first BIG improvement on audio quality. Now, remastered in 24bit, the top for CDs. Lots of bonus tracks.
2007 (COCX-34166 – paper jacket): Same sound of the 2004 reissue, but only two bonus tracks (new mixes of Opening and Ending themes).
2015 (COCX-39261): Remastered with new technologies in 24bit, pressed in the 2nd generation of Blu-spec CD. Sounds even better than LUPIN THE REMASTER, which already had an awesome sound.

There is no Lupin 1st OST in 20bit, the best audio resolution from middle to late 90’s.

I was pretty hesitant in trying out the Blu-Spec 2015 remasters due to fear of them being loud and compressed. But to my surprise it’s actually not bad at all and worth the download. It’s compressed definitely but still has dynamic range intact and the audio quality itself sounds really good. I actually really like the old 80s Lupin CDs as well. Columbia and Denon were way ahead of their time in early digital CD mastering and in my opinion most of Columbia/Denon’s older CD pressings sound better than the remasters.
