I didn’t know what to expect of this. Upon downloading it, I listened to the title track and was a bit put off, as the "remastered" version was almost too close to the original to be listenable. No matter what most of us say, it’s hard to revisit a chiptune that’s as rough as "Skate or Die 2’s" theme was. However, that’s not the fault of the remixers, that’s how the track was originally.

The rest, however, was much more appealing. Because of their comparative musical simplicity, I could notice the subtle touches, and appreciate all of the effort that went into polishing every single note. This certainly is a collection for purists who wish for remixes that are near-identical to the originals, and I enjoy it.

Momohan you’re right about the first track. Remember Rob was composing C64tunes prior to this and that "distorted" sound he used worked fine on the SID 6581 but I agree doesn’t translate well on the 2A03 NES Sound Chip…oh well thanks for the review.

Momohan you’re right about the first track. Remember Rob was composing C64tunes prior to this and that "distorted" sound he used worked fine on the SID 6581 but I agree doesn’t translate well on the 2A03 NES Sound Chip…oh well thanks for the review.
