Another premium orchestral concert from Adult Visual Novel (Erogē) developer AUGUST with their concert program "Travelling August", with music composed by Active Planets (Unit) and orchestration and arrangements again by Reah Mushiuta, same venue, same enthusiasm. A traditional Japanese ensemble is the focus this time instead of vocal performance with a focus on the Koto.
A lovely affair with stellar presentation of both the source material and as a listening experience for fans and music lovers alike.
It has to be said that outside a small circle of dedicated fans, nextday and myself are probably the only ones who even bought the albums/BDs for this concert series. Let me tell you its a stellar package which should be the norm for every orchestra concert release. They offer the concert both from a "stage" and "screen" angle and you get the previous concert for free if you purchased the 2017 one.

Reah Mushiuta, real name Shuhei Tamura, was born in Okayama, Okayama Prefecture in 1986. He started playing the piano from a young age and began composing at the age of 17. He graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Music. So far, he has composed and arranged music in a wide range of fields such as orchestra, choral music, brass band and chamber music. In addition, he is actively engaged in activities such as orchestration and arrangement of anime music and BGM music and brass band guidance. Currently a part-time lecturer at Tamagawa Gakuen and Tokyo Gakugei University.
Regardless that this is essentially a porn game symphonic concert series, the subject matter is given the utmost of attention to both satisfy fans on both ends of the spectrum.
It’s a concert made with much dedication, love and care. Certainly something you would never expect from an adult game about naked anime girls and somber piano music, but there’s much romance, in the intimate and grandious sense, to be found in the work of AUGUST. Long may it continue.
