Often known as the father of Spanish film music, the Navarrese composer Jess Garca Leoz (1904-53) was one of the big three along with Juan Quintero and Manuel Parada of film composers of post-war Spain. Here we have a selection of his music, re-recorded in 1999, with Jos Nieto (himself, of course, a noted film composer) conducting the Bratislava Radio Symphony Orchestra.
The tracks are distributed as follows.
1-9 Balarrasa (1951) Jos Antonio Nieves Condes religiously-themed crime drama.
10-13 Surcos (Furrows) Nieves Condes tale of immigration, corruption and black-marketeering in Madrid.
14 La sirena negra (1947) (The Black Mermaid)(Suite) An adaptation of the Emilia Pardo Bazn novel by Carlos Serrano de Osma. The only film here I havent seen. Presumably good to judge by the credits.
15 Niebla y sol (1951) (Fog and Sun) (Suite) Jos Mara Forqus first film
16-21 Bienvenido, Mster Marshall! (1953) (Welcome, Mr. Marshall!) Luis Garca Berlangas classic comedy on American aid to Spain.
The download, admittedly, is not mine (I took it from another site), but nobody has posted this music here so…
Those interested my kindly request the link here.

You country, I think, is Mexico. Garca Leoz is well-known there? For film music or concert music? In Spain, at any rate, he is known for scoring SURCOS and WELCOME, MR MARSHALL, which are among the best-known of Spanish films.
Mexicans, at the time of Garca Leoz, had a good film composer called Lavista. He did most of Buuel’s movies. Stars from the Mexican concert hall, like Chvez and Revueltas, also did a few movie scores during the classic age of the country’s cinema.
