Hideyuki Fukasawa’s prescence is no stranger when it came to the revival arc of CAPCOM fighting games, with his techno and EDM influences relishing in a couple of Street Fighter’s games and crossovers. The Street Fighter 4 Series Sound Box contains the meat of Street Fighter IV’s soundtrack across its many versions over time, whilst also including some extra tracks like trailer music, and remixes. This is the first time I’ve ever ripped a sound box before so any feedback/criticism on my process and how I organized it is very much welcome! (I will say that I can’t provide more formats though). Without further ado, here it is!!

Thanks! Looks perfectly fine to me! Logs and Cue are a definite welcome. Only thing I could think of to improve this is to include a Scans folder, but that’s under the assumption that you’re able to make scans in the first place.

And if we’re getting nitpicky, I usually tend to provide a single high res per folder as opposed to embedding the exact same file in every single track. Currently you’re duplicating a 128KB file across 137 songs, wasting 17.5 MB (which of course is inconsequential, but embedded artwork takes precedence over cover.jpgs, meaning even if someone were to provide their own cover.jpg, they’re still tasked with removing the embedded artwork).

That’s of course up to preference. Otherwise, I don’t have any criticisms. Great upload!

I can’t provide scans on my part but after some long consideration I might save up for a scanner in the future. Also yeah embedded artwork is my preference due to having portable media players but I can certainly next time try to not embed the art as people who download these can apply it themselves if needed. Thanks for the feedback ‘ v’b

There are albums with different cover per track, like Escape Goat, for example: https://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9251

I usually do both:
– small cover in tags (500×500 or 700×700, up to ~ 100 KiB)
– highest possible resolution cover in album’s root folder, preferably png

That’s what Bandcamp does btw. It defaults to 700×700 embedded covers.

Oh yeah I’m aware of how bandcamp works. It’s perhaps the worst naming convention I have ever seen, repeating the entire album and artist name in every single track’s filename, causing countless instances where the filenames are too long for Windows to properly handle them.

It’s mandatory to rename all bandcamp releases sadly, as is to remove the embedded artwork.

I understand what you mean about albums with different covers per track, but the majority of albums just have the same image for all tracks so might as well just leave it as a cover.jpg.
