Hello.

So I came across a Promo CD online by Jeremy Soule who did the the score for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (Released on PC & Xbox) and was wondering although possibly futile, if anyone happens to have this soundtrack by a stroke of luck? Maybe they found it somewhere or got it somehow? It features 49 tracks from the game in their original, uncompressed, state apparently, unlike the PC & Xbox versions of the the game which compressed them quite a bit. It would be awesome if this could be found or ripped. Not much on this but perhaps it can be found?

All the best.

Link to it on discogs: https://www.discogs.com/Jeremy-Soule-Star-Wars-Knights-Of-The-Old-Republic-Video-Game-Soundtrack/release/3926862

As you’ll be able to realize on your own, not an actual Promo CD, but a game-rip. A good chunk of the stuff labelled as "Unofficial Release/Promo" on Discogs are just game-rips and/or DVD-rips (in case of movies and television series).

No promo or official release of the music for KotOR or KotOR II has ever occurred. The cover art shown was originally posted on now-deleted pages on mixnmojo.com detailing how to create the soundtracks for both games from the existing game files. The Internet Archive has both the pages archived as well as the covers, and my copies of both soundtracks use these covers.

Since no official soundtrack for either game exists all that remains are the bootlegs with various expansions.

EDIT: Leon beat me to it.

Well, if the user’s still interested in having this, the MediaFire link in the thread I… Linked is — amazingly, I might add still working.

Alright then, thanks for putting that to rest. I wasn’t sure initially if it was an actual rare promo or not handed out by Jeremy Soule as I couldn’t find much on it beyond Discogs and some other places online. Star Wars the Old Republic seems to feature a lot of songs from KOTOR and KOTOR II I think in their original, uncompressed format so I will try looking there for tracks.

The background music for KotOR and KotOR II is in Bink-compressed wave files. The Bink tools can restore the files to their original state, and I’ve already done so. Other music needed to be culled from the Bink videos in the game. I’ll have to check existing threads to see what TOR has to add to the soundtracks.
