I love the 16-bit Audio Project’s releases! Correct me if I’m wrong, though, Ecco: Songs of Time is actually an arranged release, where as 16bap’s is the original soundtrack rip.

Yep— Songs of Time is a collection of tracks from the Sega CD versions of the two games, which featured wholly new soundtracks.
