!!!!!’s Nexus of Music Thread 2.0 (An Updated Thread) (Thread 119192)
your missing a song.
the escape theme in the first metroid has a extra part in the nes version.
-Extended "Escape" with the NES version of the song after the first loop
-MP3 version is VBR instead of 320CBR
Most if not all the available rips for Fusion and Zero Mission include the 8-bit noise that would be heard on a GBA. I had ripped the midis and soundbanks from the game so I could reconstruct those songs without that issue present.
The link is not accessible, are you reuploading? Thank you for the effort, can’t wait to listen to it! 😀
Had to fix one track but it’s back up now.
UPDATE v1.2 (6/28/19):
-Removed ear piercing note from "3-14 Sector 1 (SRX)- SR388 Simulation Area"
and your missing the ceres station theme from super metroid.
and your missing the ceres station theme from super metroid.
Not only that but the fusion staff roll has some high notes at the start which aren’t supposed to be there, maybe the space colony theme from Super Metroid is missing mostly because it’s more or less a soundscape / looped sound effect? it’s music data sure, but by that mentality, you don’t hear samus’s ship going to the colony or the station exploading, with or without samus’s ship leaving based on if you failed the timer or not, all though, I think Zero Mission has a missing theme, you know that scene where Mother Brain is watching? that’s not in here, but again, it’s just a few notes, hardly music, for metroid 2, all that ambient-like stuff is probably there because without it, you’d get half the soundtrack…

I’ve noticed issues with some Fusion songs have extra notes in few of their midis that don’t actually play in the song which is highly unusual. I will try to fix the staff roll song. I believe that’s the last track with this issue left. I might add the Ceres ambience in that update as well.

The Mother Brain cutscene song (https://youtu.be/riV0496pS8E) is just the boss theme with the volume raising in the song.

Ah, good point actually, didn’t think about that, though with the fusion staff roll, it’s not just the high notes, it sounds like lower chords and such are playing in a different key, not where they’re supposed to, I’m thinking, how did that happen?
+1 I’m really enjoying it, the rip is excellent indeed.

By the way !!!!!, regarding this:
14. Sector 1 (SRX)- SR388 Simulation Area
14. Sector 1 (SRX)- SR388 Simulation Area (v1.2 / Removed ear piercing)
I will keep both versions, I like the soundeffect in the first mix. I say this because you said that in Fusion there are some songs with extra notes that don’t actually play in the song, but personally I don’t care (I didn’t even know about unused notes, it has been a surprise), I like them all, if I can have different mixes or unused versions for me it’s perfect, thank you very much! I renamed the tracks "14a" and "14b" and problem solved.
I have no idea. I’ve only ever seen this happen with Fusion. Luckily only a few tracks have had issues, the staff roll being the worst offender.
UPDATE v1.3 (7/13/19):
-Significantly edited notes from "3-39 Staff Roll ~ Results" using the "METROID PRIME & FUSION ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACKS" version as a reference.
I will share the updated song by itself temporarily for those who don’t want to re-download the whole rip again for a single track change.

Edit: But on a side note, thank you so much for this rip! The level of quality throughout is amazing.

A lot of the Zero Mission tracks do this if you pay attention, it’s good, you get to better hear stuff that was kind of in the background, on an already muffled output thanks to poor gba not having actual dedicated sound hardware like the snes did.
