Good Omens is a television series based on the 1990 novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. A co-production between Amazon Studios and BBC Studios, the six-part series was directed by Douglas Mackinnon and written by Neil Gaiman, who also served as showrunner. The series stars an ensemble cast led by David Tennant, Michael Sheen, and Frances McDormand.
About the Music
Any fan of the book “Good Omens” will tell you how central a role Queen’s music plays in the story of Crowley and Aziraphale, and the director of Amazon Prime Video’s TV adaptation told TheWrap just how “desperate” he was to obtain the rights to that music. “If you know the book at all, the Queen joke is a huge one in the book and runs all the way through it,” Douglas Mackinnon told TheWrap. “I was desperate to get the music.”

In an interview in Comics Buyer’s Guide with Terry and Neil, shortly after the American release of the book, Terry proposed the theory that, when you’re driving through the country late at night, and there’s nothing on the radio, you find yourself stopping in at an all-night gas station and looking through the tape rack; the only thing there remotely tolerable is a Best of Queen, so you buy that. Two weeks later you can’t remember how the thing got there, so you get rid of it, only to go through the same process again. Neil’s theory was that tapes really do turn into Best of Queen albums.
