I’m excited to share this lossless rip for those who haven’t ripped the game themselves.

Format
The original game uses a format called MusyX which is similar to MIDI.
Using a tool called amuse I was able to rip the individual tracks to 8ch wave format. Pretty cool that the game supported 8ch.
From there I converted the .wav to WavPack.
You may be wondering, "Why WavPack and not FLAC?".
The original 8ch wave files are 32bit floating point files. FLAC doesn’t support 32bit integer files. To achieve FLAC you would have to convert the songs to 24bit .wav files then convert them to FLAC.
I’m not sure how much quality the songs would lose in the reduction of the bit rate so I decided to use a different lossless codec. WavPack can be played by foobar2000.
I tested a FLAC conversion using FLAC Fronted to convert the 24bit tracks and it worked. That could be an option for those who don’t like WavPak.

Also, .wav file size = 14.1 gigs. WavPak = 3.65. That’s the benefit of all these lossless codecs. Of course lossy would be much smaller.

Track Names
I watched a playthrough of Star Fox Adventures to get the track names and the first appearance of each track.
I was able to Identify most of the tracks, however, there are some tracks that don’t appear in the game.
For example, the track "Area 6" is never used in the game. We know the title of the track because it is a remake/arrangement of "Area 6" from other Star Fox games.
Also, I was able to pull some header information out of the game to get a list of track titles. "Area 6" was called "SNGstarfox_area_6". The track "Main Menu" was called "SNGcommunicator".

I have included an excel file with the header name, file name, appearance order, appearance name, and a yes/no column if the track was used in the game.
I am 95% confident in the tracks I have named, but the tracks that start with "Song" I’m not sure on. Some of them like "Song64/SNGDIM_Mines" sound like they should have been used in the game but I’m not sure where they were used.
Any help on naming those would be appreciated.

Missing Songs
Some songs are missing from this collection. Notably, the end credits song and Krystal’s theme. These songs don’t seem to have their own MusyX files.
Most likely these songs are contained in the cutscene files and are in a different audio format. If I can find these files and extract them I will include them… (this task is probably beyond me)

Mtags
I have included a mtags file which contains tag information for all the songs. Mtags can be loaded using foobar2000 and this plugin… mtags (https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_tags).
I like using mtags because it allows me to keep custom tags outside of the actual media file. This is nice if you are like me and want custom tags but don’t want to bloat the song file.
If you don’t use mtags the the !.tags file can be opened with any text editor (rename .tags to .txt) and the information can be extracted that way.

Enjoy!
