Well, since someone in the forums has done a thread on the Scitron / Pony Canyon albums, I guess I need to request video game soundtrack albums by the now-defunct Noise Factory. I know that their OSTs are not much (as I have seen on VGMdb) but some did caught my attention. Specifically, the Metal Slug 3 and 5 Original Soundtrack albums. Strangely, according to a certain reviewer from the Video Game Music Online site, the original albums for Metal Slug 3 & 5 have better quality than the versions found on the Complete Sound Box due to the superb audio mastering on Noise Factory’s part.

Even the same reviewer mentioned that the ones in the Metal Slug Complete Sound Box (specifically the Metal Slug 3 and 5 versions) have inferior mastering. Of course, it’s just his opinion but let’s just say, I’m very curious. Also, I have seen that some of the OSTs that they have are interesting but may be rare to find as far as I’m concerned. Here are some excerpts from that reviewer to prove it. I got them from the VGMO site if you want to know.

"That said, the mastering on the box set is somewhat worse than the stand-alone edition, meaning audiophiles may wish to go for the alternative version (referring to the original soundtrack album from Noise Factory)." – George Capi (from the Metal Slug 3 section of his Complete Sound Box review)

"However, once again, the box set version of the soundtrack features inferior mastering to the stand-alone edition and many fans will wish to simply stick to Noise Factory’s edition." – George Capi (from the Metal Slug 5 paragraph of his Complete Sound Box review)

Regarding the albums that I’m talking about, here is a link to the Noise Factory VGMdb page as some of them have no catalog numbers: https://vgmdb.net/org/61

If someone (or any one of you) can take up my request, be my guest. The audio file formats for this one are MP3 VBR (in this case, V0 quality) and FLAC. Also, my only criteria is that I want the audio files extracted from the actual original soundtrack albums themselves (which means who own these soundtracks in CD will be able to fulfill this request). Unfortunate, yes, but it is necessary for audiophiles like me.

In my opinion, this entire request is entirely optional. You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to. I can understand that as this may be a difficult task because of their rarity. However, I would be thankful if anyone can do so. That is all for this interesting request (for me that is).
